Weekly News Recap: 10/5/2015 – 16/5/2015

May 18, 2015

The second week of May continued the trend set by its predecessor, with plenty of bloodshed and battles raging across all regions of Null Security space. As alliances and coalitions scramble to secure their borders before FozzieSov hits the server, and others seek to use the opportunity to grab as much space as possible, both sides end clashing up spectacularly, from Fountain to Wicked Creek, from Venal to Querious. All around the Cluster the sounds of ruptured hulls and the screams of the dying can be heard as conflicts continue to escalate.

The North: In Venal, Circle-Of-Two [CO2] continues its campaign to rid the region of the local residents, with mixed success. Fights over towers and R64 moons occur almost daily, with Capital escalations on both sides, resulting in hundreds of billions of ISK lost. In the Drone Lands, Nulli Secunda [S2N] attempts to help the Geminate Coalition and Legion of xXDEATHXx [X.I.X] stop the advance of the Vanguard Coalition with little success, as Pandemic Legion continues to interfere, hampering operations.

The East: It seems that after the failure of the 3rd crusade of Phoebe Freeport Republic [PFR], it turned it sights on Insmother, attacking Diplomatic Immunity. [DIP]. Fighting has been sporadic, with mostly structure grinds. TEST Alliance Please Ignore [TEST] and Gentlemen’s.Club [GCLUB] have been intervening, usually in favor of [PFR]. Besides that it seems that [TEST] has solidified its control over Wicked Creek, and [GCLUB] is receiving the remaining systems its allies hold around Immensea. Making the East the most quiet region in New Eden at the moment.

The South: The conflict between Providence Bloc and Northern Coalition. [NC] continues to escalate, with the latter taking the first system in the region of Providence, Y-MPWL. Fighting continues almost daily between the two, with third parties such as Spectre Fleet, Pandemic Legion and even the Red Menace and Stain Wagon coalitions showing up. In Querious, the war between local CFC forces (Reavers Squadron) and DARKeshi (DARKNESS. [DARK.] and The Kadeshi [THOR], as well as Ev0ke [EV0KE] and other allies) continues to rage, with Pandemic Legion interfering, mainly on the side of the CFC.

The West: Fighting between Black Legion. [MEN.] and HERO Coalition continues in the Fountain region in earnest, with the former managing to grab almost half the region and many of the moons around, pushing HERO Coalition on every timer. A new participant recently arrived in the form of Pandemic Legion, surprising both [MEN.] and HERO Coalition forces.

All told, the second week of May saw plenty of death and destruction spread across New Eden. The main focus points seem to be Fountain, Querious, Providence, Etherium Reach and Venal regions, there the fighting has been constant and fierce, with no side giving quarter. As May enters its third week and FozzieSov a mere month and a half away from implementation, we will surely see much more violence spread across the Cluster, as alliances and coalitions become desperate to push their advantage with the sovereignty mechanic they know. Only time will tell, if their attempts bear fruit or are dashed by the ever changing political reality that is Null Security space at the moment.
