Zest – Eve Online Pure Solo PvP

December 12, 2014

What is the core of your Eve experience?

Every player in this vast world of New Eden, experiences the game in his/her own way. No two are alike.

One nullsec gate camper will sit on the gate and just enjoy the Mumble chat server, enjoying the company, the talks, the friendships, and for that person the actual act of PvP is secondary at best. And perhaps another player camping just next to him, will only be waiting for that one juicy 5bil pod to land in his bubble, hungry for that green killboard stats. And yet another third player, newer to the game, that upon seeing two Battlecruisers land on grid- his hands will start to shake.

There is always a common denominator in those that stick with Eve Online. The game inspires some aspects inside us that are more real, more vivid, than we can find in any other game… There is emotion. We can define some of it as positive/negative, but it all feels very real.

I created this video with Zest, and a sense of adventure. For me, Eve is an unparallel ultimate game experience. I have never experienced a game before nor since, where I could let creative thinking find form, take shape inside a game universe. Eve allows out of the box thinking, the endless small details, that the pilot can actually use/manipulate, allow true creativity. You can fit your ship in endless ways for various situations. And then you can really do some concrete things to bring about that situation into life.

This is what I tried to bring through in this video. That the pilot can create his/her own reality inside the game. In this particular example, you’ll see the manifestation of various Solo PvP situations.

But try to see beyond the obvious visuals, into the creative force behind it. There is a different point of view to be seen. Another play style of a New Eden pilot. Another point of view. Another way of experiencing the joys Eve.

As best as I could, I molded my joy into this video. And I believe you’ll be able to feel at least some of it. But allow me to ask you again…

What is the core of YOUR Eve experience?

Is it when your breath is taken away by the beauty of some sleeper anomaly structure or a nebula? Or perhaps when you’re a part of a huge fleet fight, and you feel like one small grain of sand in the enormous dune of the battle, and yet so alive? Or the fear when your hands shake in the middle of a Solo fight? The frustration when you accidently burnout your guns as your opponent is in structure? The upliftment of scoring that incredibly expensive deadpsace item? The greed of the ISK market trader? The anger/joy of the fail/successful FC? That sense of absolute awe when you feel that incredible solitude, in that desolate unknown forsaken Wormhole that you call home?

It is true what they say about this game. Those that go deep, know that it is indeed so- We went through a difficult birth to reach the place where we’re at now. To be a real part of this game. And see it as you will, we’re in it together. Yes, we fight. Yes, we war. But above it all, and even before it all, we are friends. Even if we don’t know each other personally, there is a link there. And the potential is ever present. It takes but a simple wave in local, and the friendship sparks into flame, with great ease for us pilots.

Isn’t it so?
