Gallente Conquer Caldari – Militia Style

August 27, 2014

Few things in life are guaranteed:
1. Death
2. Taxes
3. Drama

But one thing that, by design, was meant to be guaranteed is no longer – eternal struggle in Faction Warfare.

Currently, the Gallente militia controls 100% of the conquerable space in the Gallente and Caldari lowsec zones.

Usually something of this magnitude doesn’t happen, apart from some major players joining a side, an example being Test Alliance who were on the Caldari side at the start of the year.

With close to 100 systems this is no small task, unlike in null sec where a target is unable to dock unless they control the station, lowsec has various ways around this so assets are not trapped, such as using a neutral character to simply dock at any station and recover goods after they are contracted. This means that cutting off supplies can be quite hard, almost impossible, if the group is well funded.

It appears that Caldari groups have simply given up and been pushed completely out of Faction Warfare lowsec by the Gallente.

What does this mean for the Gallente?

Currently with all the systems conquered Gallente sits at Tier 4, which means they receive a 150% bonus to any faction warfare sites they run ( albeit they can only run defensively at the moment) verse Caldari who earn a mere 50% of the normal payout.

For instance a single site that standardly gives out 20,000 loyalty points, Caldari receive only 10,000.

While Gallente receive around 30,000 from each “offensive” complex and receive 15,000 from defensive complex’s compared to the Caldari’s 7,500.

While no one knows exactly how long this will last, each moment it lasts lets the Gallente shore up defenses and continue farming LP while any Caldari pilots who get close to taking a system will be quickly squashed, like whack a mole – but with Caldari groups. If we take a look at the Minmatar vs Amarr Faction warfare map we can see that while Minmatar are currently Tier 3, that Amarr forces still hold a good deal of systems and are holding Tier 2 firmly which can be seen below:

For now, what seems certain is Gallente faction warfare items becoming cheaper as all the loyalty points are spent and Caldari having to take some time and restructure to take back their systems. If they don’t, the long term ramifications will likely be severe with alliances leaving the Caldari Militia for greener pastures along with the Gallente wallets growing fatter.
