In an unprecedented move for our fellow capsuleers on Serenity, The conflict between PIBC and VVV on one side, and RAC/COA and FDK on the other, escalated into a massive supercapital battle that might even dwarf B-R5 before it is over.
This fight has been inevitable for quite some time now, as the opposing sides started moving their supercapital forces into position well over a month ago.
For most of march it seemed this was all they would be doing, that is, until an IHUB timer in the strategically important 49-U6U system caused first RAC/COA and FDK to move their supercapitals in to defend the timer.
Losing the system would give PIBC/VVV a highway into Catch, something RAC/COA/FDK cannot afford at this stage, giving them no choice but to go all in to defend the system.
The IHUB became vulnerable in the last 30 minutes before downtime, at which point PIBC and VVV cyno’ed in and destroyed it before RAC and its allies could mount any effective resistance.
The battle continued after downtime, and is set to go on untill the next DT. As of the time of writing, neither side seems ready to bend, Although like its big brother Tranquility, Serenity is incapable of handling fights on this scale, and the fight has been on 10% TiDi since it kicked off. This would make it difficult for RAC and its allies to make an orderly withdrawal.
The current killcount stands at 51 titans killed by PIBC/VVV and 15 by RAC/COA/FDK, along with well over 270 dreadnoughts destroyed.
