Sunday in Sendaya

March 12, 2014

Around 20:20 ET Sunday the mother of all brawls broke loose in Sendaya, the current staging system of the HERO Coalition. Throughout the day HERO forces had been skirmishing with pilots of all sorts. Ministry of Inappropriate Footwork Hellcats, European Goonion Tengus, and Provibloc cruisers had made cameos in the system throughout the day. However, it was upon the arrival of a Northern Coalition. that things got truly interesting for the intrepid newbros of HERO.

An NCDot foxcat fleet had been pursuing Mr. Vee’s tengus in the nearby system of Doril before attempting to engage a HERO fleet on the Doril/Sendaya gate. After HERO withdrew back to Sendaya, due to the sudden presence of a 100 man BS fleet, heavy tidi, and BL bombers, the NCDot forces spent a few minutes attempting to pin down Vee and succeeded only in further proving Darwinism as one foxcat warped to the incorrect station and was promptly killed by the EG fleet. Upon realizing the pursuit was fruitless and annoying the NCDot FC opted to move his fleet into Sendaya. Allegedly, he had worked out a plan with a HERO Fleetcommander to stage a fight in order to draw the Tengus into combat. The plan worked, to a degree. It was been reported that HERO had approximately three fleets up and the HERO FC with whom NCDot had made a deal had not conveyed the plan to his peers. Whatever happened, the Tengus were brought out of hiding, allegedly sporting a full rack of EM and thermic hardeners, and began opening fire on the Foxcats. As the HERO thorax fleet with whom the NCDot FC claims to have made contact disengaged, another two HERO fleets began engaging the napocs, annihilating their triage support. What followed was a slaughter. NCDot pilots claim to have had 80 PL Proteii they could have cynoed into Sendaya, but given their 100 pilots found themselves on the receiving end of 800 bloodhungry foes, opted not to complete the welp by involving PL.

A European Goonion pilot recounted the battle on reddit as news of the massacre spread:
I got my scout in to system when Hero was killing BS and carriers from the random team. No idea who they were or what they were doing. BL was already in Tornadoes shooting stuff. CVA cruisers didn’t want to engage anyone and just kept on running.

After the carriers were down EG entered the field with an 80 man Tengu fleet. BL stopped shooting Hero and concentrated on EG only so we were up against 3 (or 4?) different fleets with combined numbers of around 400+. Considering that we didn’t lose that much to be honest, only around 8 tengus and all our logi 🙂

We of course ran away after killing a few dozen t1 cruisers and countless frigates. While retreating to Doril a wild NCdotte fleet appeared. Hero refused to engage in Doril so we all just sat around for a while.

NCdotte went in to Sendaya to engage Hero on the station. They got overrun in matter of minutes and tried to MJD away. Their MJDs landed them directly on the face of EG Tengu fleet but we didn’t have too many points so we only killed a few. NCdot out of the fight pretty much meant that we couldn’t really keep fighting alone either so we once again ran away while trying to catch NCdot stragglers. They docked up in Jorund to avoid more losses and we went home.

Nice fight overall. NCdot definitely made a mistake with coming in BS in to that kind of fight. Also over 200 frigates dead from Hero side (mostly from Brave) is a pretty impressive number in lowsec. Keep that up newbie frigates 7o
Since the festivities of the day mar any clear attempt at a dog-net or Evekill BR, a Dingo BR report was used to capture the aftermath.

On the dingo report:

Side One: European Goonion
Side Two: Northern Coalition.
Side Three: HERO
