Minmatar FW Update: Time for Civil War!

February 11, 2014

Currently in the on-going conflict in the Minmatar/Amarr Warzone a few parties in the Minmatar side are involved in a Civil War.

The initial reason for this war appears to be acts of aggression by WINMATAR against some allied Minmatar militia POSs and assets due to the apparent reason they weren’t using them properly. The first one which apparently was forcefully taken belonged to Defiant Legacy shown below. This then progressed onto some militia player owned custom offices here.

After these aggressive actions the likes of Iron Oxide. , Late Night Alliance , Angry Mustellid and other associated corp/alliances (apparently known as Losematar) requested the return of said assets from WINMATAR to resolve it peacefully before forceful action would have to be taken. As expected WINMATAR refused to give in and even stated that “You will lose more in this war then we will” so war declarations begun and WINMATAR members were removed from the combined TLF TS3 server ready for the battles to begin.

The first battle happened in the system of Gulmorogod with Losematar showing in the traditional “Hellcat” BS fleet facing WINMATAR in a similar setup of Armor BS with the addition of a Shadow Cartel BS/T3 fleet in support. Even with this support the side managed to lose the neutral thanatos fielded to provide them with additional rep support, costing the Losematar side in the same amount of isk in battleship losses made. With the overall battle report available here.

After this initial scrap with capital ship blood spilt the desire to explode yet more of the ships was high. The next fight came from days of planning in attacking the Titan POS in Bosboger, a Sansha Large Control Tower. With Losematar fielding a mixture of Shield T3/ferox or Armor BS depending on the intel at the time the force continued to poke the hornets nest with a talwar fleet, managing to kill more with their POS due to alpha than their fleet alone. Apparently a call was put out by them to get aid again from Shadow Cartel which was clearly denied, although some sign of batphone was initially called as the talwar fleet kept attempting to suicide themselves in an attempt to kill the cyno jammer in use by Losematar.

Whether it was intentional or not the timer for this POS as it comes out of reinforcement would not be favourable for the EU/US heavy Losematar as it would mean a late night for the US at 05:00 ET and an early “alarm clock” morning for EU.

On the morning/night of the battle it was uncertain to how many each side was likely to have show, WINMATAR expectantly managed to secure the support of some wormhole group in Scary Wormhole People along and Disavowed along with low-sec pirates Failed Diplomacy. For the Losematar side they sufficiently managed to gather a large BS contingent, boosted by the hastily agreed NAP with Death By Design and logistics assistance from Feign Disorder.
The stage was set and as the and allies reached their POS the Losematar shortly followed and battle commenced with Tidi reaching 40% in system with over 200 pilots in local.
WINMATAR again fielded a thanatos as well as a archon which exploded in quick succession, with one remaining carrier managing to return safely to the POS shields. A collection of BS and T3 hulls were also destroyed with the overall battle report shown here. Ultimately the day was won and the POS was destroyed by Losematar, allowing them to replace what was lost to their allies.

The full modified battle report can be found here.

Following this loss the Losematar have continued to push for the remaining assets still held by and have met little resistance with two small POSs subsequently having been lost.

The question now remains will they yield what is left in their control or continue to force the Losematar forces to grind through what is left in their position. One thing is certain, this shows that the apparently dormant Minmatar Militia can infact awaken yet when the time is required.
