Battle Report: SV5-8N

December 21, 2013

Last night could have gone badly for the forces of N3 as a carrier and supercarrier fleet was tackled in the SV5-8N system of Catch. Sources in the fight stated there were major grid issues around the sovereignty blockade units (SBU), and it appears the group got tackled due to bumping on warp in to said SBU’s. The supers got out with no losses, but several of the carriers were not as lucky and they found themselves separated from the fleet by way of being off the grid. A grueling three-hour Ti-Di battle ensued.

The BR Doc shows an interesting story: Five carriers down (all archons) for N3 who were outnumbered 2-1 by CFC/RUS forces. All reports received however, state the carriers lost were off the grid from the fleet and therefore unable to catch reps.

No doubt, the CFC/RUS forces were dealing with the same grid issues as the N3 forces were and only lost a handful of battleships and a couple T3 cruisers. The capital fleets appear to hold up very well against greater numbers, provided reps catch at the appropriate time; however among the casualties of this battle were hundreds of N3 sentry drones who died to bombing runs during the fight.

Overall it could have gone horribly for N3, but they were able to extract only loosing several carriers. With the Christmas and holiday season here, fleet participation will no doubt be closely monitored because if either side would have been able to get more numbers tonight, things could have gone very different.

I am sure more fights are incoming as this war continues to slowly grind on.
