Brave Collective SOTA

November 28, 2013

This afternoon Lychton Kondur, recently appointed CEO of Brave Newbies Inc. and leader of Brave Collective gave a state of the alliance talk to his fellow brave pilots.

The state of the alliance was only 6 minutes long but covered some key issues, see below for a write up of the state of the alliance or listen to it here.

Brave Collective. As we enter our 10th month i’ve been reflecting on the journey we’ve taken to get to this point and i’ve been extremely happy. Although unorthodox our growth and understanding of the mechanics that this sandbox offers is reflected in the numbers we’ve been able to amass. As i stand before you today brave collective is currently the 2nd largest alliance in New Eden with over 6000 players across 20 corporations. Our propaganda team recently highlighted the first chapter of our story and i cant wait to see the continued evolution/devolution of brave. We’re going to be talking about 3 things today; Our deployment, Internal operations and Rubicon.

First off our deployment. As you know the past few weeks we deployed deeper into syndicate in the system 9GYL-O. Our initial reasons for deployment was; to stress test our internal logistics as an alliance, bond with our sister corporations out in null and smash any assets that were in our way. I would like to say this went off without a hitch, we were extremely successful in this deployment. Various people all came together to secure our corridor, do hot drops and bash the crap out of our neighbours. While other various people supported the logistical end by both creating modules and transporting them to 9GYL-O so we could continue the fight. We also had additional support from the folks over at Sound. Their application of dps, ability to something safe experience and usages of bridges and jump freighters really saved our ass and i’d like to take the time out to thank them personally for their efforts. After the deployment ended we took a look at our strengths and weaknesses and we will endeavour to apply those lessons learned on our next deep space adventure. We know some of our members really enjoyed the nullec lifestyle and we encourage you to grab that bull by its horns. We will continue to use nullsec outposts through our sister corps and our brave station in VLGD-R although brave will always maintain an entry level lowsec presence in Barleguet for our new bros.

Moving on to our Internal operations. On the administrator side things are actually interesting. Our first milestone to be reached is our soon to be implemented Auth service. We anticipate the Auth service to be released within the next few weeks and the purging of our lazy spies will commence, coupled with our Auth service will be our transition into teamspeak. Lately we’ve been dangerously close to filling up our server on multiple occasions and we need to be in a place with more room to grow into, that is the primary reason we’re moving, we also want to make sure we can remove some of the passive spies that are able to actively sit on our comms and with the ability to Auth screen people before allowing them onto comms, we’ll probably be able to remove 90% of the spurge that we’re getting in local. Finally the new Brave collective forums will be available in the near future using Auth to create a secure environment for us to spurge in peace. At this point i’d also like to commend our IT team for actually working when they’re not in game so that we can play internet spaceships, hopefully when this is all done we can get them to fly with us.

Lastly our training program ‘Brave Dojo’ has grown extremely significantly our numbers in terms of both instructors, mentors and students has really been a testament to the work we’ve been putting in and applying knowledge and handing it over. However we always need more experienced mentors to help mentor the rest of us in game mechanics and in any other questions we may have so if you’re listening to this and want to help out join our in game channel ‘Brave Dojo’ and volunteer your services. Lastly for our administrative stuff our collective has been busy making Moon goo, drugs and PI stuff. We’ve recently setup a buyback program for Ore, Gas, PI, salvage and exploration loot this way you pilots dont have to worry about getting your loot all the way back to jita. Our chemists are starting to work their way around a beaker and flask and should hopefully begin seeding our markets with the illegal juices needed to sustain us in combat. Lastly we have a few moons that are being used to fund us in alliance operations that while we still havn’t figured it out completely i’m confident we’ll be able to reapply this profit over to the main pilot core.

The most recent expansion: Rubicon, has the biggest impact for our POS’s. Local syphoning units are now allowed to steal units from the moon itself so i am asking personally every pilot in the alliance, as you fly throughout the placid pipe spot check our POS’s and make sure there are none of these little space assholes out there, if there are take whatever is in it as your own little personal tip and then Pop it, enough said. Lastly War. The Rubicon expansion has presented us with some pretty cool new PvE sites, space tools and New lore to experience in new eden. CCP has also given Brave alliance new targeting opportunities, im proud to announce Brave will be making internal history once again by declaring our 2nd ever war dec. After this we will declare war against a high sec corp that tried to steal pocos from us while we were deployed that were vital to our sister corps operations. We are all going to begin running harassment and interdiction ops against targets within the Syndicate pipeline and solitude to give our gas miners, exploration site looters and drug making brothers some relief in the pocket and to deter them from harassing our brethren.

Lastly a alliance targeting team is finalising an advent calendar of Pew Pew to celebrate the upcoming Christmas season. Even though we aren’t deploying anywhere we are going to provide at least 1 major operation every single motherf***ing day till festivious christmas or whatever you call it in New Eden. We need to test our ability to engage over a prolonged period of time so lets do it in the most fun way possible, killing other people. We cannot do this without you, we expect you to grab your ships whether it be the new battlecruiser doctine, a pocket rocket talwar, logi, ecm or fast tackle, have them fitted and ready to go at a moments notice. If your security status is absolute s*** then go harvest tag or buy them and get your act together. We will always have time to shoot neutrals and take ourselves back to the comfort zone of -5 sec status but we can no longer allow our internal spurge to prevent us from acquiring targets, our enemies are many and they have become complacent. So let’s form up, turn on our hardeners and stop these dudes where they live, in null, low and in high sec. As you know the drum always beats for the sound of war and Lychton wants to play a song for you: Stay brave, 7o, out.
