Well actually it isn’t as bad as the title would lead you to believe, but basically that’s what part of this internal update from Get Off My Lawn says. Oh! they are also pretty much deploying into Delve:
——— Transmission Starts ————
since I have some firm bits of news regarding the LAWN I figured I’d knock together a post to update you.
Standard Disclaimer : if I say something is speculative it could yet change completely.
In terms of solid news some of what I have is sad at the moment but not overly unexpected. We have a time of change coming up and I expect there will be more good and bad news in the near future.
LAWN PvP planning is in progress
As you will have read in this post we are planning ahead for LAWN-only PvP. Results from this should be fed back to the DoW department via your corp’s CoW though the initial results from the EU TZ FCs meeting that Gibguard held this week were promising. With small to medium scale PvP likely to be the future for a fair few months you’ll want to make yourself heard and pay attention to the results as they come out.
Seniors has decided to leave LAWN.
As with several of our corporations they are the in-Eve presence of an out-of-Eve gaming community. Some internal discussion over a month ago revealed that there was a large amount of their community that had an interest in Eve but not in the sov aspect of it. After over a month of internal debate they have decided to take their corporation and strike out in a direction that the majority of their community had an interest in and they will be heading to w-space. As you can see from how long it took it was a hard decision to come to but this move is expected to resulted in their corp multiplying in number of active players from their community.
Their departure will be somewhat extended as they currently pilot the LAWN alliance Titan and one key member happens to be on holiday in Florida. Rather than depart now and hand over the titan later they are remaining in LAWN until that is settled.
We are sad to see them go but they have indicated an interest in remaining blue to LAWN. They have loved their time in LAWN and should the w-space experiment not work out for them then they would like to be able to return.
If it does work out for them then there may be an opportunity for LAWN member to visit w-space with some friendly local guides.
Either way the HC hopes that this will reinvigorate the corporation which had been undergoing a quiet phase for some time.
Solarise Flares is also departing LAWN
Solarise Flares is, like Seniors, a corporation that is an in game presence of an out of game community. As a community they have had a building desire to see what they are capable of by themselves and now that the sov campaigns are over they are going to act upon that and see what they can manage!
Their future direction at our last discussion wasn’t certain yet but they too would like to have the option open to return to LAWN should they decide they preferred the pointy hats. Their departure will likely complete by Thursday.
LAWN likely to move to Delve
This is now the fifth iteration of spoils for LAWN with only one of the previous versions looking even vaguely similar. Don’t go shipping large amounts of stuff yet as our precise holdings haven’t been defined but do cast another eye over your stuff so that you don’t end up shipping a pile of things you don’t actually want.
For the moment though if you are in this area of Delve then making tactical BMs around gates etc. may turn out to be time well spent.
Once details are hammered out, including for example systems to form a JB link to the low-sec exit and maybe stations elsewhere for speedy deployments, then I will write a larger post explaining why I’ve chosen this result. This of course assumes it remains the best option for LAWN and who knows, that may change over the next few days to a week. With the Delve campaign winding down though I expect announcements to be possible soon ™.
The short version however is that while a bit more exposed the space is a bit of an improvement in terms of income, it will be a decent improvement in terms of moons and PvP will be a lot more accessible than it currently is in Branch. This move will not suit everybody but then staying in Branch also wasn’t going to suit everybody. In terms of what this means for LAWN as an alliance it allows us to grow our PvP capabilities while working together rather than via a multitude of small deployments.
I’m looking forward to being able to post about our new home as I’m excited by what I can see of it so far!
