Tonight around 2am ET someone logged into all 4 COHO titan accounts, stole (or self destructed) titans, self-destructed pilot’s capsules.
Petitions made, we got IP address of the person who did the stealing – Poland (89.68.120.134).
Anyway, thats worth a lot RL money so we’ll probably look into getting it formally reported to polish authorities – after all, recently someone was convicted for stealing WOW gear.

The problem with Coven is they failed to realize their only chance of survival was assisting Nulli with the defense of delve. They didn't even consider helping at the time and from then it was obvious it would just be a matter of time until they disbanded. The march down the path has been a log slow one, as they are even still blind to the reality of their situation but they are being frog marched down the path none the less.

In Poland you can go up to 5 years to jail for braking to someone else account ( mail, faceboook , game ) additionally if you did this to do someone harm/steal – you can get more than 5 years.
In our country already few people went to jail after a stealing a "wow gear" in this case the amount of damage can be easy calculated because we know how much plex cost, and how much isk you get for it in the game.
You can say – those are only pixels – yes they are – but this not change one thing that Polish law don't take in consideration EULA, but focuses only on the aspect – braking to someone else account and doing damage that is worth big amount of money.
Now as they know ip, Polish ISP must provide the information who did it. If this was some random access point then the side supporting data will be CCP.
The real question if CCP provide the data asked by Polish Police or try to "resist"
After this for sure bans will be gived to both sides : the one that shared the account and to those who brake in on the account – just for CCP was able to say "we did every thing possible from our side"

These Plex are extra gametime, which is sold on the market for ingame currency. a Titan is worth about 90-110 BILLION of this ingame currancy. each PLEX is worth around 500Million. The Play has to spend 15$ of thier state currancy to get said plex. So, you will have to get 220 plexes to pay for this ship. hats about 3000$ dollers. thats Just for ONE titan. this individual stole and/or destroyed 4 of the. Thats a total of around 12000$.
How can you NOT call that theft? These people Lost 3000$ worth of an asset due to what would be considered a criminal action in the real world. Videogame or not, these people were stolen from.
Ccp owns everything on the eve server. They sell licences to people to play their game on their server. No one has spent 3000 on a titan they spent it on server licences and sold the licences to another player for ccp owned isk then used it to buy a ccp owned Titan.

Further, If the owner of the account "authorized" another individual access to that account by giving them the username/password, regardless of the EULA's position, then I don't see any "breaking in" of an account.

There is a difference between breaking/hacking into someones game account of email account or facebook and simply loging into an account to which u have been given a password and login and thus impliedly also a permission to access that account.

Which is rubbish, if the account login details were/are common knowledge no breaking into someones accoutn has occurred… When you share your account details you have to make the resonable assumption that someone might act irresposibly with that information.
The onus is on the provider of the information to keep it safe, if he has kept it safe then no "breaking" could occur.
Even if you leave your car key on the hood of your car, somebody stealing it would still be committing a crime. Poor security measures aren't a very bright idea, but can't be used to justify an otherwise illegal action
The situation that you are presenting is inaccurate and misleading. The accounts were not "broken into". The account information was handed over and then someone that was 'granted access' did what he/she felt like doing with that account.
While it is unfortunate for the person that initially created the account was on the losing end of a mass amount of space bucks the account itself is still accessible and useable. The topic of the EULA is simply that while Polish law may not find it necessary to punish the owner of the account, CCP under its own guidelines may find cause to punish both the account owner and the person that used the access.
