One of the richest industrial corp The X-Trading Company, part of Razor (and Goons) was hit with a 1.3 trillion heist!!! Details and a Q&A with a well informed source below!
A week ago, EN24 got a short tip regarding the “X-Trading Company, the self-proclaimed richest German corp in EVE, the word on the street was for X-Trading to have been scammed for about 2,000 billion isk in assets and money. They decided to leave -RZR- some months ago and are now desperately looking for a new home where they can rebuild, trimming their fat, abandoning their “forever communism” philosophy and are generally trying to reposition themselves.”
Yet, to this day The X-Trading Company [XT] resides within RAZOR Alliance.
The details were sketchy, so I got my shovel and went digging. It seems that XT is indeed filthy space-rich, an old industrial crop, of about 200 members.I was able to contact someone who had reliable and detailed information on what happened. Unfortunately, he asked for anonymity. I sent mail and convo requests to the CEO and managing directors of the corp, none answered back.
riverini’s note: Just for the record, I have confirmed that the interviewed party did belonged to the X-Trading Corp until recently – yet we will respect his anonymity. Despite all this all we got is rumors and an interview from a insider. There are however certain verifiable facts which do fit in our interviewee’s statements, yet take this with a grain of salt.
Here is the transcript of our conversation:
EN24: Would you like to comment on the rumored two trillion heist that hit The X-Trading Company [XT], which is part of RAZOR Alliance.
Informant: It was not really 2 trillion Isk.
EN24: How much then?
Informant: Near 1.3 trillion in total. All their Hi-Sec assets and those in an alt-corp, with a small amount in minerals, near 45 billion, and nearly 20 billion in cash.
EN24: who did it?
Informant: this question i prefer not to answer.
EN24: Fair enough. How did it happen?
Informant: They were moving all their assets down from the north, to highsec and lowsec, [it seems this was part of Razor move to assist Solar Fleet], and then “someone” who had the rights, and was tasked with moving the assets, decided to ‘keep them’.
EN24: it is rumored that the corp is one of the richest industrial corp in Eve? Any comments?
Informant: I heard back in november that the corp had 3.2 – 3.6 trillion in assets mostly. I was able to get these numbers through EVEHQ, as I had a directors API. However, that number excludes the Titans, and other Caps and Supercaps, and assets in members hangars. Additionally, in early January, they split their industrial arm into another corp, and their value dropped to 2,3- 2,5 trillion Isk.
EN24: So the industrial part of the corp was not hit in this incident?
Informant: Their expensive BPOs (caps and cap parts) were locked, and thus they were not stolen. Similarly, the corp has a nice collection of T2 BPOs that they got back in the days through the lottery, and these were stashed away in another corp.
EN24: Could you list some of the assets that were stolen?
Informant: Hmm, I think up to 40 dreads, 10-15 carrier, and many other cap ships. In addition, to 55 Guardians and like 40 POS towers, and some other stuff that I can’t remember.
EN24: How do you see the future of the corp?
Informant: They stopped recruiting on the German Forum (eveger.dk), and a massive wave of char left the corp last week. [According to EveWHO 30 characters left the 200 member corp in the last few days, and their in game channel has been deserted too]. I think the corp is nearly dead, only 10 real, active players are left, with their alts. But, I think they still have substantial assets (with several rumored titans and super caps) to rebuild if they want!
EN24: how much preparation such a heist needed, in your opinion?
Informant: Several months at least, to gain trust and get the proper access. However, the heist took little time, in two hours most of the stuff were already gone!
EN24: What were the perpetrators motives?
Informant: “weil ichs kann”, because they can! And it is a once in a lifetime opportunity! Who wouldn’t!?
Just before he left our private convo, my anonymous tipper whispered, now that the story is out there, the life of the scammer will be hell. He is now a pentiti (Italian for “he who has repented, it designates people who collaborate with the judicial system in Italy in order to help investigations). Someone just broke the omerta code…
