CSM8 needs a clean slate. Fourteen brand new, capable people to take their places on the CSM. To represent the player perspective to CCP Games.
Fortunately, that could be a possibility. Hans Jagerblitzen. Two Step. Alekseyev Karrde. Kelduum Revaan. These people have stated that they will not run for re-election.
Elise Randolph, I’m not entirely sure about. It’s been indicated that he’s not running, but I’ve yet to see that in writing. For now, we’ll assume that he isn’t. (Elise is probably the only CSM7 member I wouldn’t mind on CSM8, but a clean slate is a clean slate.)
Seleene needs to go. (It has been confirmed that Seleene is not running for re-election.) He does work, but not on par with the people named in the second and third paragraphs (excepting Kelduum from that list of course.) It’s come to a point where it seems Seleene’s only real desire for being on the council is that he craves having that inside scoop, his access to NDA material, misses his time as a developer at CCP. That’s hardly a reason to be on the CSM, although it’s certainly become the extent of his platform (“I used to work for CCP, who better to understand the culture and working environment. Blah blah blah.“) He certainly wasn’t Pandemic Legion’s choice last year, that was Elise Randolph. Seleene squeaked in on name recognition alone.
(Hell, I think any former CCP employee should be excluded from running for the CSM. Stick that in the White Paper, CSM.)
Then there is Trebor. He really needs to go. He’s been nothing but one bad idea from start to finish this year. There have been some hints from him that CSM7 might be his last CSM, yet he’s not said anything definitive. I think he may very well run. I also think he’s been positioning himself as a highse/carebear candidate all year, a re-election safety net. There was the voting debacle, in which he trumpeted for a new voting system, one that would limit the power of the nullsec voting blocs (a popular highsec platform.) In the most recent minutes, he argues against non-consensual wardecs, favouring mutual wardecs instead. He throws out the word griefing a number of times, and we all know the sort of buzzword griefing is to the carebear community.
The rest we can mostly ignore. They’ll either get in because they have a large group of idiots backing them (Dovinian), or they won’t because the voting population realized they were a waste of space on the council (Meissa, Issler, Darius III.) What the Russians will do is a mystery. I suppose UAxDEATH has a chance to get back in, maybe, his alliance is in a shambles, but it is now rebuilding under the CFC banner (though I doubt he’d get any official CFC backing.) As for Greene Lee, Against ALL Authorities hasn’t completely disintegrated yet, so he probably has a better shot than UAxDEATH. (Although I have issues with Greene — people without a strong command of the English language have no business on the CSM. English is the language CCP uses to communicate.)
There are a number of really strong candidates running for CSM8. Mynnna. Malcanis. Ripard Teg. To name three exceptionally well-known and respected candidates. Marc Scaurus is considering a campaign, he has a lot of respect from the community too. It would be cool if Pinky Feldman decided to run on the lowsec ticket. A number of these people will be part of the Iceland Seven.
The CSM needs new blood, and a new perspective. CSM7 has been far too chummy, too apologetic, too sycophantic towards CCP. A lot of that, no doubt, stems from Seleene’s leadership, and Seleene’s relationship with CCP. Instead of representing the players, we ended up with a bunch of people representing their own self-interest, and explaining away CCP missteps.
I’m not advocating an adversarial relationship between CSM8 and CCP. That’s not going to get anyone anywhere. There has to be respect on both sides. But CSM8 has to enter their role, not looking for new pals and chums and Skype buddies, but to do a job. They aren’t another marketing arm for CCP. We all want them to represent, to do their best to get shit done, to ensure CCP makes as few mistakes as possible, and to serve as proxies to the playerbase at large. We vote them because we feel they can best represent us.
If CCP Unifex wants to move CCP into new development directions, then we need new CSM members. No more of these three and four term people bogging down the proceedings with old methodologies.

Hahahahaha you wish M8
in before poetic claims he would be best for CSM.
I'd back Poetic, if only for keeping the other on their toes and in line.
I don't think Poetic would be a good candidate. He have too many ideas which is a good thing but as a CSM member he would go after his own head instead of listening to others and trying to find a general consensus. I think he is more usefull to the community as a popular blogger who throws in shit tons of random ideas (sometimes really good sometimes really bad) instead of beeing a CSM member.
At this time, I'd be a terrible CSM.
At least you realize that and don't have delusions of grandeur
I'd support Pinky ,I have told him that ( I am a nobody of course so my opinion caries little weight) but I don't think he is interested, he said he'd consider it but lets be honest it is like RL politics. Those who are capable don't want to and the worse attention whoring dirty candidates usually make it.
Last but not least, if you vote kraiklyn for CSM
I'll get a free trip to Iceland. Awesome.
I want Charibba to CSM8
Oh good, a comment that mentions the CSM6 chair gets deleted. Riverini this is pretty dumb if you don't like the completion then make your site better rather than censoring any mention of it.
I think it has more to do with the other site doing childish things when it launched such as spamming the site name over, and over on EN24, so an auto filter was added, and bam…… we have retards like yourself crying about it.
White Tree for CSM 8
Anybody heard anything from Mino Noud, the guy who claimed – loud and proud – that he'd be posting more articles and suchlike? No? So it's not just me then.
Poetic, as always your articles are thought-provoking whether your ideas are good or bad. Why not write us up something along the lines of what you think makes a good CSM rep, and who you'd have on your clean slate? I know you're not afraid of the abuse(you keep coming back for more you sadomasochist you) so make this happen. Please.
I see him sometimes trolling in recruitment channel , maybe he can answer your questions there.
What?
Ive read a lot of horse crap – but this article rates as the biggest pile of horse crap yet. Way to go PS. Basicically a pile garbage leading up to how everything that everybody else does is utter crap and we should just get rid of them and put ME in charge instead because im so sool and know everything.
Sure, theres plenty of space wasted by lazy idiots on the CSM – but if youre dumb enough to vote for Darius despite his well worn track record, what did you expect. But painting the WHOLE CSM with the same brush? Thats just frankly insulting.
CSDW Artctura is also an interesting candidate. He's working tirelessly for his corp and alliance. He has shown that he is a moerate when it comes to changing stuff. The guy is patient, willing to listen to opinions that are not his own and he's not afraid tobstick to his guns when he needs to. He's got 1 of my votes for sure
RON MEXXICO FOR CSM
I will vote for him not once, not twice, but thrice.
I'll run for CSM 8!
Poetic Stanziel writes about shit she even does not understand. This shemale is not worth even one vote in CSM8.
Where is our good fellow MINTROLIO ?
He´ll get my votes for sure.
CONFRIMIGN 1 VOTES IS MOR THEN I AM EXCEPTED.
KEEP UP GOOD POASTIGN
While I'm not one to rip on CCP and their failures or perceived failures like some. I personally think they do a really good job with keeping me addicted to EvE. This is how I see the CSM and how it functions in our favorite internet spaceship game.
The CSM is nothing more than some feel good, fairy dust, puppet show from CCP. That's all they'll ever be. Other than winning a select few a trip to Iceland.
It's PR for CCP to be able to say that players have a say in the games development. While CCP continues to push out what they want, how they want, regardless of input from the CSM.
It doesn't matter who is on the CSM next session. We'll just be here again next election cycle bitching about how incompetent they are and to be honest it's not totally entirely the CSM members fault. Working as intended by CCP…
