In yet another exercise in A-grade irresponsibility, 72 hours old alt Vaille’s decided to load 25 Plexes in the cargo bay of his Velator, and against all common sense he appeared in Jita, where he was promptly greeted with salvos from Zed Liberius’ Tornado
The loot fairy was definitely smiling at Mr. Liberius as, unlike what happened in other similar situations as of lately this time the 25 Plexes dropped.

Now that you can use plex from inventory and you can create plex anywere, the only reason you would move plex is to clean it by getting ganked.
(or maybe in the 1/1000000 chance you found some old plexes somewhere remotely and wanted to bring them to jita for a +%)
You do not have to move them around at all. You can return Plex to the Redeem Items system.
To my knowledge Plex do not drop from wrecks anymore… So the entire 14 billion was lost when he said poofff…

Once a PLEX is redeemed into a station hangar, though, it can only get to another station hangar via a ship's cargohold. If the Plex is returned to the Redeem Items system, it can only be redeemed again to the station from which it entered the Redeem Items system.
Maybe i'm wrong about this, but if this is money laundering…..where was the guarantee that the plexes would actually drop?
The plan is not to get your lexes shot – its to give the plex to another character by dropping a can at a random safepoint. Tis guys just got shot on the undock before he could carry it out.

Why would you risk 14bil worth of isk laundering to either drop or not?
The botting account and any toons associated with it will be banned and the isk will be lost anyways. So get ganked by an alt at a safe, take your chances on drop and presto it was a dumb person that got ganked right?

One big fat stack doesn't sell it very well.
It doesn't work like that. They drop the plexes and associated implants in a can at safespot for the guy who paid them to pick up. There is no ganks involved. The other implants are to round the isk to 14 or 15 bil i guess. They usually advice you to sell it to buy orders.
This guy is unfortunate since he got ganked. There is no actula ganks involved in RMT. They might be illegal, but not stupid.

You know the Tornado probably had 3 scan res script running so insta lock and a cargo scanner. He jumped in got locked got popped before the ship could even align to station

Anyone with real life money can get that many plexs. All they have to do is type in there credit card number.

If it was isk laundering surely he would have put the plex in a GSC so that he would be SURE it would drop. This smells like a nullbear going on a shopping spree, using his highsec alt to haul his shopping to jita, and then being struck by the invisible fist of Darwin.

These large ganks in jita are not uncommon at all. However, in the past few days there have been so many of these high isk kills (Plex, Implants) on "noobs" that it does look suspicious. You have to admit when someone finds an exploit, it will spread slowly, and eventually happens so many times in one day that people notice its just too coincidental.
I'd like to know what ccp think about this….

I think this is tying in with the pupermaster and moving production up for invasion. Or so the article on eve 24 was posted sometime within the last 2 weeks.
