It is not unusual for news sites and forum users to focus more on the achievements and announcements of 0.0 sov holders and the intrincacies of Nullsec politics than on other environments like wormhole life and factional warfare.
However, those of us who enjoy reading about good fights should know better, as both activities generate a considerable amount of interesting killmails and battle reports, often with respectable losses for both sides. And who does not like reading about a ton of expensive explosions?
Let me introduce you to the system of Rakapas, in case it doesn’t ring a bell. Currently in the possession of the Caldari, its situation today is not entirely unlike a certain small village of indomitable Gauls:
Despite current talks of the Caldari militia being in a difficult position (or so it is said), it is pretty evident that there are plenty of people willing to fight against the odds.
That amounts to 347 ships lost, including seven capital ships, and a hell of a lot of ISK fielded by both sides. And yes, that’s a lot of Lokis indeed.
Eve-kill estimates 42 billions in losses, which is pretty impressive, and according to the official EvE forums, it was a good fight indeed, and enjoyed by all (or most).
If you don’t feel like moving to 0.0 and just want a quick fix of PvP action and occasional big fleets, factional warfare might just be what you are looking for. You know where to find these guys, and what they do.

There is a reason that everything revolves around 0.0 Sov and more particullarly Goon Sov.
Because through our sov we are in controll of all EvE. FW is really for people who are new to EvE or dont really have a clue about PvP, so want to have a go in their t1 frigs. The only pros in faction warefare are the, Goon Collectors, who go in and controll all the wins and losses and collect the necesary protection isk resulting in the various sides winning or loosing. FW is fun if you dun't know much but if you want to be something imporatnt in EvE, you can only do that in null. Some peope in null have alts in FW, but really unless you are a Goon Collector, these people are failing hard and trying to hide their inability to PvP by pretending they can in FW.

What Goonion says is largely true. You'll never accomplish anything in eve unless you hold sov space with YOUR name on it. That's the mark a of truly successful organization, being able to take & hold space as it deems fit. Now back to the kindergarden with you kids!

This isnt a Guardian its a augoror, Thus only has 5 high slots. You can tell because he has 3 mid slots one is the AB in the middle row, the other two are ECCM on the bottom row of mods.

lokis were Black legion. nothing to do with fw they were there to killmail whore probably
BL. were called in by caldari, They managed to score 3 dreads, 1 archon and a couple of Ngeddons. Caldari fleet that was baiting lost 3 carriers and quite a few BS. Gallente evac was pretty decent, a combination of ECM bursting from a Nyx that sneaked outside the shields and dreads blapping a couple of hics allowed most gallente dreads to jump out the second they dropped siege.
In other news after 2 days and a half of continous siege and fighting, Rakapas fell to the combined forces of Drunk 'n' Disorderly, Samurai Pizza Cats and Lost Obsession, aided by various other Gallente Militia entities.
The two major caldari alliances living there evacuated their assets, with Happy Endings choosing to leave faction warfare and Templis Dragonaors redeploying to the non FW system of Dantumi. After Rakapas and Kinaka fell yesterday, Caldari control is reduced to 5 systems out of 101 total.
Gotta love soundwave and his alt in gallente militia and the ninja patch.

I dont care if we are critisize that we are noobs, we just have fun figthing for faction militia and fights like we had in Rakapas was one of them of many we have almost every day we log to play … so have fun thats the point.

Next Gallente will come for Old Man Star/Ladistier, our small alliance is will to keep fighting. I find factional warfare nice if you have only hour or 2 per day and do not want to sit and wait for fights to be organized.
