Everyone knows that in EVE, you are given those special moments that make you keep playing. Whether it be killing a freighter, getting a faction spawn, a titan kill, or even slaughtering carriers with a less than optimal fleet. NC. were fortunate enough to acquire the latter.
On December 12th, the night was slow and boring, but one man was able to find some joy in exploring a wormhole with several other buddies and some boosting alts. He jumped out into the unknown abyss and found himself in Fountain with plenty of pew pew available. He then convinced even more people to venture with him and began to follow a bait Sleipnir with a fifteen man gang + boosting alts. Shortly after catching the Sleipnir (who died a horrible death), the gang gave chase to even more targets but soon ran into a trap. Several nano/BCs were waiting for them with a surprise of their own.
As the groups began to engage, a Rapier dropped cyno and two carriers jumped onto field. This is the point in a battle where every FC begins to freak out and figure out what to do now. Luckily, there were only two carriers at this point and the gang went back to kill them while subsequently popping subcap ships as well. The Rapier was killed along with the cyno and all seemed well until a Chimera showed up on grid and dropped a cyno. The panic infused again as more carriers dropped on grid. The call for more ships was went out and WHY so Seri0Us even joined with some major DPS. Soon, the carriers began to pop one by one.
A call was made to kill the cyno Chimera but the current FC, Alex Jabez, made the comment “Why? He is bringing us more carriers.”
The reason why the large number of carriers were ultimately decimated was because of their lack of knowledge with their own ships. Medium/light scout drones, along with sentries, were being deployed to fight the enemy. There was also a lack of target calling as every carrier pilot was shooting different targets.
NC., and WHY so Seri0Us were very fortunate to be able to find these poor pilots and teach them a lesson about flying caps.
