Imperial Legion’s last bastion in Scalding Pass refuses to fall yet again….
The war in the Drone Regions rages on across Scalding Pass with a slight Red Alliance incursion into Insmother. Imperial Legion’s homeland lays in ruins, firmly under the control of Red Alliance and their allies. In Insmother a major victory was won with the capture of C-J6MT the ancestral home of Red Alliance and the previous staging point of SOLAR FLEET during their defence of Scalding Pass. With the history of the system, everyone expected a clash of might at the timers but the SOLAR coalition allowed the system to fall without much of a fight. And so the Red tide moved onwards until it attempted to take 28Y9-P.
28Y9-P, the home system of Imperial Legion, is where the line seems to have been drawn. Three times the system has been in its final timer and three times it has been saved. The third of these final timers was the scene of this evenings bloodbath as the SOLAR allies clashed with a S3/RA allies fleet.
In KZFV-4, one jump out of 28Y9-P, the English speaking allies of SOLAR (Black Legion, Against ALL Anomalies, Persona Non Gratis, Ethereal Dawn, Imperial Legion, Black Core Alliance, Core Alliance & several few smaller groups) in a fleet of Hurricanes waited on the gate for the RA Allies fleet (NC., Nulli Secunda, THE UNTHINKABLES, Nulli Legion, Double Tap., Pangu Coalition, Nexus Fleet and Red Alliance) of Rokhs. The brawl went down at close range as the Hurricanes and Rokhs brawled on the gate at zero and NC. Nagas came in at range. The introduction of 18 slowcat carriers put serious pressure on the SOLAR allies. Both sides suffered losses in the first round with the SOLAR allies coming off the worst of it and being forced to warp off grid to regroup.
Round Two sees the entrance of the so called “Golden Phalanx” AHAC fleet of -A- to the conflict and once more the fight took place on the gate. Hurricanes and AHACS engaged the Rokhs at zero and the fight was extremely one sided with battleship after battleship going down at an alarming rate. NC. sniping tier 3′s caused some damage to the AHAC fleet killing a number of zealots and pair of strategic cruisers but not before the Rokh fleet had been slaughtered. With the battle turning against them, the RA allies began to warp off field and the slowcats started cynoing out.
As an evil twist of fate, series of players on both sides suddenly lost connection as a server outage, reportedly on the Comcast ISP network, dropped their connections. This included several of the Nulli carriers who quickly found themselves bubbled and put to the sword as their allies fled the field. A couple of the killed carriers where already tackled but a couple of the losses could have perhaps been avoided by the connection loss.
With the invaders routed, the SBUs were cleared and the station/IHub in 28Y9-P and 2-KPW6 were repaired. The Imperial Legion tag still stands on the 28Y9-P station, a tag that many would of thought would have been removed months ago as this alliance has weathered invasion after invasion of their sovereignty. While they may not be the alliance they once were, they certainly have friends who will assist them to defend their space and their home system is becoming a growing thorn in the hopes of Red Alliance returning as a real power to the Drone Regions.
Final results: 33.86b in kills for SOLAR allies and 11.63b for the RA Coalition
