riverini’s note: This is the sort of stuff which begs the question: Why the hell wasn’t this offered sooner?

We interrupt our scheduled broadcast of Retribution-related news and information with a guest dev blog from our friends at the EON magazine. Please welcome EON Oliver, who brings you some exciting news!

Splendid news! EON magazine can be acquired for space bucks, which is to say you can have the very latest print edition of EVE Online's New Eden's official magazine delivered to your place of work, residence or play, in return for just one of those PLEX things. And wouldn't you just know it, the very latest issue was published just a couple of weeks ago.

I'm sure you're all aware of what EON is, but seeing as I don't get to write dev blogs these days (quite rightly, not being a dev), perhaps you'll allow me a brief pitch:

Produced and published by us at MMM Publishing, EON has been around since 2005 and it is of course a magazine that is all about EVE Online (with a light sprinking of DUST 514 for good measure). Each issue combines dev interviews, gameplay previews, official fiction, guides, war reports, ship fittings and profiles of characters, corps and alliances, all of it written by EVE players with a great deal of support from CCP.

Admittedly, being a quarterly magazine, we are quickly overtaken when we do get our noses ahead of events, but in this increasingly-homogenized digital age, we do have one or two qualities worth shouting about. You can sample most of them by registering at eonmagazine.co.uk and downloading a free issue. If you can somehow imagine those silky smooth pages sliding beneath your fingers as you relax in your favorite chair by a roaring fire, you can appreciate the importance of the offer.

Redeeming a copy of EON for PLEX is easy and can be completed via the Account Management page. All you need to do once you've transferred the PLEX is enter your shipping information. Your magazine will then be sent within the next week from our London office and should be in your hands within a few days or so, depending on where you are in the world.

For the moment "EON for PLEX" is just a straight swap of 1x PLEX for 1x current issue. We of course hope that those of you who take up the offer enjoy the magazine and will one day subscribe and enjoy the savings and free gifts that comes with it. Meanwhile, if you have any concerns or questions about EON, feel free to email us at [email protected]

Fly safe!

So CCP have said they are taking measures to control the ISK cost of PLEX. I assumed they meant they were going to try and lower the ISK cost due to the massive rise in recent months. How silly of me.

Seems I cant post a decent response, cause it keeps being deleted by admin. Shame, seems Riverini cant even take constructive criticsm anymore.

Alot of posts on this site have been in extreme bad taste in the past to the point that stopped looking at this site for months. Though the post you made might not have been that bad on the other site, I can appreciate what they are trying to prevent. Even though it might be tilted to one group, I can still feel comfortable there as a human being, and this site is and has taken a noticeable trend in that direction as well as i can read through the articles and comments and not feel ashamed that I typed in the URL.

It wasnt a rant or anything, in fact it was an example of how a BR could be expanded for EON above and beyond the format we used to have with the stats and blob index etc. I actually put in abit of time and effort to it. Detailing the out of date problem with EON and the fact that a tenner is an awful lot for a magazine.

I did mention that EN24 was becoming more a rehash of other ppls blogs tho and links to dev blogs. I appreciate these links, but they arent really much on the original content side.

          1. Daelda / So you want unlimited Character Slots as a strdaand feature then? Different players feel that different things are important to them. I, for example, would like to have at least 16 Character Slots per Account in TOR and possibly as many as 24. This way I can experience the Light, Dark and even the Grey path of each Character Class on one Server. Is it fair for me to expect a Game Company to provide all players with that many Character Slots as a strdaand feature? Or should I expect to pay some sort of Premium for that? What about the Possible Legacy System? If they release, say, 10 new Species via some Legacy System or Expansion, I may want to have a Character of each of those Species. Is it fair for me to expect that they will provide me with 10 new Character Slots as well?Time to play is not a factor here. I am disabled, but one thing I *can* do is play online. Thus, I can spend all day, or at least until my wife wants my attention, playing the MMO of my choice.

Crap accidentally +1, i'll have to find 2 other IPs to fix that. Highly doubt it. Stop crying. Better yet follow through now and stop playing.

Dude… Really? The game needs work in some vital areas but stop it with the teenage whine already, anybody with a brain can see it's not as simple as that

CCP adding more uses for plex, anyone taking bets on what level plex prices settle at.

    I'm going to guess 650m…

Sorry to say this but the era of print is over.

Online is just more accessible and interactive medium. Online also often comes at no charge.

Even more common publications such as your daily news paper has to rethink their strategies. I fail to see what this publication offers over any online media and certainly will not be pushing ISK in that direction.

I still wish you well and hope you find/keep a niche that will guarantee your survival.
