Here is something you don’t see every day, a GoonSwarm Federation fleet getting outbobbled and The Mittani going down in the blazes and glory of combat.
Word came that The Mittani was roaming along a few of his peers and the alarm was sounded in the hopes of claiming the kill-mail. I wasn’t online, but am pretty sure SuperTwinkey69′s rage would have provided better news content had he missed the kill than the roleplaying piece we are about to present, written by an NCDOT pilot:
Operation Geronim-o-noes a success!
It has been confirmed that on the date 12-09-25 at 03:16 hours, Operation Geronim-o-noes was a success. The death of the elusive evil dictator / infamous celebrity: The Mittani was recently confirmed using verbal ID, face recognition analysis and DNA matches. This operation which was the culmination of literal hundreds of seconds of planning was said by members of the Elite PVP Strike team to be a “kill operation” which has sparked debate among liberal members of the
aristocracy.Foreign intelligence services alerted authorities that the reclusive and extremely well guarded enemy had been spotted outside of his remote northern hideout. Although cause for excitement, it was also a cause for apprehension. It was rumored that he was carrying a valuable tech II rig in his cargo instead of on his ship. What possibly could have caused him to leave the safety of his fortress?
Was it a zombie apocalypse? Godzilla? Something Awful? Although there was cause for concern the call was made that this chance was too good to pass up. The Mittani must be killed.
Specially outfitted ships were gathered, and the actual assault was carried out by an Elite PVP strike force of over 50 members. It was said that when asked to volunteer they “couldn’t just say no to
soldiers trying to join the operation.” The force was lead by Rear Admiral SuperTwinkey69 who, although long since promoted, is famous for his Drill Sergeant’s demeanor and seething rage. It was rumored that there were only 12 soldiers protecting the dictator, but this was not to be a fight… It was to be a slaughter. As everyone gathered on the Titan class vessel the order came down from above that the operation was a go.A cyno was lit in system WBR5-R, in the Vale of the Silent. Silent is a perfect word for the precision deployment and strike carried out by the Elite forces. Nearby residents and media brought along on the operation have confirmed that rapid gunfire was exchanged while both sides tried to earn their place in history. The target was spotted and immediately taken down, with the kill shot and bounty going to the pilot BlackIron Souless. Although they were completely surrounded members of the Goonswarm Federation fought to the last man, only two members escaping with their clones intact.
A collective breath of relief was head across communication channels as the smoke from the battle cleared, it had only lasted 1 minute in time but it had seemed like an eternity. “We got him.” Cheers echoed across the galaxies. All good players whether a high sec miner or a Null sec diplomat could breathe a little easier that night, The Mittani had logged off.

Confirming I was on the patrol that spotted The Mittens. Too bad we had another mission, would of liked to engage this high value target =)
Props for coming out and fighting once in a while rather than letting the grunts do all the work. Kills like this are rocket fuel for his enemies however.
Nah its more like a morale loss…..NCDOT/BL do there own dirty work, while GSF brings about the same 12 guys to every fleet and rely on Zagdul and FA and FCON and RZR to do most there fighting….And they get fed table scraps.
The piece was badly written, and a lot of words to describe the only newsworthy thing here, that one of eve's most (in)famous players lost a ship and a pod, one who doesn't log in very often (or so the legend goes).
Can you imaging if they published this kind of article every time an alliance leader dies?
In the mean time, on the site named after this guy, I read a few interesting articles that sparked a real discussion about the game we're all playing.
