So just to see if I got this straight. You want to throw out the CSM for a different named version of the CSM, except that instead of just having members you want CCP to then guess at what they will be doing for content a year ahead of time so that they have a great chance of having either too many or too few members.

In the corporate world, this would just be called a Customer Advisory Board (CAB). Currently, CCP believes they will receive the best feedback by having CAB members who represent the largest groups of players who identify with each other. End of story.

Like most cheese is the best cheese an old cheese. A good cheese needs to age, needs to have age.

When we apply the ageing principle of cheese onto men, to make men into better men, then we speak of ageing men - aka man-age-ment - the act of ageing men and making them into broken, old men.

Once this is understood is the concept of man-age-ment a very simple one. A man ager (aka "manager") has the sole purpose of keeping men at work, to ignore all that distracts men from doing their work and to keep men focused on only the work and nothing else. This may seem wrong at times, for example when men run out of materials required for work rendering them unable to do their jobs and the man agers still demanding them to work anyways. The result always has proven the concept. Only the old and broken men, who never got to fuck around but were made to stay focused on their task are good men.

Now not to lose the topic out of focus (...) is the act of crowning a King of Cheese very inspiring. Let us not forget what age does to cheese!

What's in a name. A rose by another name smells just as sweet.

What matters is that CCP brings in a group of players that the playerbase has chosen, players who have a great depth of knowledge of both the game and the meta game. Which they have done. Changing the name doesn't change what they do. Arguing semantics based on the name doesn't accomplish anything except to sidetrack everyone from real issues.

Quit getting caught up in what it's called. It's a group designed to be an elected intermediary voice. CCP won't deal directly with the rabble for many good reasons. The CSM is elected to be a voice of (hopefully knowledgeable) eve players. Just a voice. They don't manage shit and aren't intended to. But let's not overly complicate the role either.
