Battle Report + Video: SOLAR vs DOT Bros. – A Back to Back Geminate Brawl

Undisputably the biggest event for this weekend was the massive brawls between SOLAR INC and the DOT Brothers in the 4NGK-F and MR4-MY solar systems in Geminate, before we start here is the cheat sheet on the involved coalitions members:

Battle Report + Video: SOLAR vs DOTBROS – Geminate Brawl

SOLAR FLEET and allies were reinforcing and cleaning up several POS’s in various systems mostly in the northern part of Geminate. I was the Fleet Commander for the Drone Region allies of Solar , namely SCDOT, PNG, BCA, ED and Core.

Our fleet had 120 or so, heavy in Maelstroms and Drakes with about 10% in Scimitars. The SOLAR Fleet packed heat in the form of dreadnoughts, handy for quick structure removal.

Round One

The first fight happened in 4NGK – NCDOT were flying a AHAC fleet vs Maelstroms and Drakes (alpha fleet) by Drone Fleet.

NCDOT and SOLAR sub-caps stubbornly countered each other throughout the fight as both sides tried to get on their own optimals and achieve tactical superiority. Things scaled up when triage carriers were brought in by NCDOT to suport their AHACs, a tactic which proved effective. In fact for a few minutes any damage we managed to put on several primaries were outrepped, to the point that we suspected spy work was involved to ensure preemptive locks from the carriers.

Then SOLAR cynoed in their dread fleet which happened to be on standby when the fight started and wiped out the carrier (and another one that same pilot brought in) then cynoed out the caps, leaving the fight once again to sub-capitals only.

Part Two: Judge Dread

After the first fight cleared up DOT Brothers jumped out to the nearby system allowing some cool down timer for SOLAR pilots to regroup and clean up the field. We were semi-expecting DOTBROS to head home, but they instead camped us into the system. Not back to full strength after that last intense fight in 4NGK, we were waiting for each other to make a move, with DOT Brothers setup in AP9-LV, at optimals waiting for our pilots to jump in. We were working out plans to get a tower up and bridge out via a Titan when an Fidelas Constans led fleet appeared in intel.

I am not sure the exact communications between SOLAR and FCON but a deal was struck that we were “ignore” each other and focus on killing DOT Brothers. Strange bedfellows indeed but DOT Brothers were certainty on everyones shit list today.

The second fight in MR4-MY was much shorter, however it started very interestingly. DOT Bros. cynoed in about ten dreadnoughts and put them nearly at zero on the gate. Tracking dreads coupled with webbing T3 Lokis can make short work of battleships, so as FC I was a tad concerned. Both fleets had reshipped and we were back to nearly full strength. SOLAR was not interested in letting the DOT Bros. out without getting some more kills and we were all ordered to jump into the system with the enemy Armor HAC fleet already set up.

We took heavy losses during the first few minutes of the fight (mostly focused on the Drone Allies fleet I was leading since we decloaked first), however the field pitched our direction after about five mins. Fidelas Constans and their fleet certainty helped, hats to them for being around and willing to shoot DOT Bros.

All in all both fights were certaintly a slug fest. Time Dilation was nearly 25% in one of the fights making the syncing of Alpha fire tough to manage.

    Wait WTF.. Why are your stats and the Youtube video titled "SOLAR+DekCo" or "SOLAR/CFC"? There was no CFC members there at all. We are not allied with SOLAR and especially not AAA.

    IN FACT all of the alliances listed for the SOLAR side are are -10 standings to us.

    Stop trying to skew the facts and claim this is a victory against DekCo as well, CFC has nothing to do with this.

      When you get yellow boxed by most of the enemy fleet you turn it on overloaded, rather than be stuck waiting for a cycle to finish to overload it. Escpeially useful with kinetect hardners vs drakes.

      That way, you dont have to wait the whole cycle to start overloading. Instead, you just activate hardener when yellow/red boxed

      It's out of habit more then anything else on this occasion. Because of constant incoming smartbomb damage he maybe should have actually had it on. We generally leave them off and overloaded because 1. Instant overload hp boost instead of waiting for next cycle to begin. 2. Saves capacitor, which doesn't matter so much with ahacs but nagas / rokh's, it matters a lot.

      MACTEP is suborn as hell and he wants Geminte back so he will do anything to get it. I think Geminte is not worth of humiliation of having Goons as allays. He should have allied with NC. first to kick goons and XIX out of 0.0 then fight NC. for Geminte. On other hand if Vince was not an idiot he could have made a deal with MACTEP long time a go and have an ally in solar in exchange for that region, but he was to busy sucking up to Mitani to care what Solar think. It is all a long story of pride and arrogance on all sides. :(

          If NC. falls “DOTbros” will be lest of MACTEP's problems. Goons will have only 2 serious enemies left in 0.0 space: SoCo and Solar. My money is they will turn back to south-west to eliminate SoCo with combined CFC HBC blob, wich will take something like ten days, and then finish of Solar when it will have no more allies left. This is MACTEP's problem, he has tunnel vision and fixates on Geminte too much ignoring bigger geostrategic implication of what is going on.

          If Goons were not involved I would fully support Solar taking Geminate back because I don’t particularly like NC. and Vice is a opportunistic backstabbing dick, but with looming Goon total supremacy over 0.0 such petty vendettas and minor territorial disputes have to be cast aside for the greater good of EVE.

            There isn't much squabbling, really.

            I don't know why, but ncdot seems to think they're more popular than they actually are. There really isn't a lot of support for them in the drone regions so I don't see them rushing to fight goons anytime soon. Although a lot of those alliances are quite poor and some would definitely help out in exchange for isk – although as far as I know neither tech moons nor money were ever offered.

            IRC numbers are gradually starting to rise to be honest and they're starting to show up in useful ships like Zealots. I did a sorting by alliance while we were sitting on a Titan yesterday and I was impressed.

            I don't know what you mean by saying that Gypsy mostly wants to bomb stuff? If Gypsy wants to bomb stuff they can bomb stuff as much as they like, as long as I don't have to be on the receiving end. When Gypsy bomb it has a tremendous effect on the battlefield so I'm not sure where you're going.

      No you got it wrong solar is doing this all wrong. It is solar that shoots them selves in their own foot. Dotbros even after solar being vultures would welcome solar to join ranks as equals. It is only solar at this moment in time is making a huge mistake, very hularious aswell, goons will stab them in the back 6minths down the line that's what makes me laugh most, and after the way they are conducting themselves do far, they will need to change if they wish to be getting help, if not then GL on fighting the blob on your own.     I must say that what i see is that everyone fears the Dot brothers. Why? Because for the numbers they manage to get in their fleets.. they make a whole lotta damage everytime.

    Everyone's afraid they might grow to even odds. Thats my take on the regular fights where everyone bands up to pound on them. And even though, these two (2:1) fights tallied up to barely above 50% efficiency in favour of Dotbros enemies.

    Given this.. mad props to them from the south! You're pvping hard guys! I'd love to see SC+Dotbros against goons and test ahahah now that would be a sight to never forget!
