GoonSwarm Federation got introduced to the receiving end of Bomber’s Bar. Tonight’s special: Jägerbomb.

Battle Report: GoonSwarm Federation Meets the Bomber’s Bar

Every now and then we get the odd Vengeance Inc. killboard with ridiculous bombing runs, today we got one from the Tribute region. While reinforcing a GIMA (Northern Associates.) station system in PBD-0G, GoonSwarm Federation brought the now classic Drake blob to finish the clean up.

Templeman N from Vengeance Inc. was looking for targets for his black ops fleet when he noticed the system’s activity, after bridging in, he proceeded to do FC two bombing runs, one when the Drake blob cynoed into the station grid – yielding about 25 kills, next – as the Drake fleet started rolling safespots – the Bomber’s Bar positioned themselves on the out gate grid dropping bubbles and waiting for the retreating fleet to make an escape attempt.

The tactic worked just fine, the GSF fleet warp dragged into one of the bubbles and a second bombing run came in order:

          We're terribly sorry, and apologize to you for actually finding an alliance that can put up a fight.

          I continue to respect NC. fleet capabilities every time we come across a close fight, or even on the occasion we are beaten.

          1 system a month just means the opponent is worthwhile. Not every alliance failcascades like White Noise.

            I have an intense dislike for Goonswarm (history, and no I've never been pwnd by them), so reading "roflstomp a group of retards sitting still in space… " has cheered me up no end.       Just using bombers kinda different. Alot of planning has to go into the runs when you are just hoping they will land where you need them too and the pilots have to know what to do if they don't land where you need them to….If they are in a fleet fight and you know that they will be in a big blob well then I hope you can kill them…..

      LOL NC / NA decided within days of the tech nerf annnoucement they weren't going to stupidly defend tribute. They had completely moved out of tribute 2 weeks. I was a member of NA corp and I knew it. So no idea how GIA missed it.

            Yes, b/c NCdot took those moons from Solar when they were fighting xdeath, RA, and PL, being a vulture and taking moons, now had in that meeting NCdot were like "oh sorry bro, thought you were dead, take them back and lets go kill CFC" things may have been different. But what they were like is "sorry bro, we collect tech moons, if you want tech moons, then we're enemy's" which is where we are.

    Not sticking up for Goons or anything but they were not standing still. 1st run yes as they came through a cyno that popped right where we predicted it to pop but the second time, the Goons were MWD'ing through the bubbles to the gate. I think only 5 -10 of them actually made it out alive (inty's and frigs). And for the "Nerf Bombers" comment below…. They are not going to get nerfed. They are the only ship in the game that are only effective in a gang. All other ships can be used solo but a solo bomber isn't gonna kill anything but pods unless the pilot they fire at is a derp with an MWD.

      A solo Manticore can actually be very efficient, if fit correctly, at taking out ratting battleships.

      Fly the ship before you make claims on what it can and can't do.

        Alliances who live in NPC space are generally a lot tougher and smarter than the 'Elite-PVP' alliances we've been pushing out of sovereignty. They're the ones who drop a bombersquad on rating carriers, getting amazing killmails.

        We welcome that. Keeps us on our toes, unlike the "Goons r evul, purge teh heretics!" that every red alliance's propaganda team heaves up like so much week-old chinese food.

    This is the problem… CFC/HBC and these "Elite PVP" alliances are playing two different games. The "Elite PVP" alliances are focusing on battle strategy. They are looking for fights and brag (rightly so) when they wreck huge numbers of the enemy with their superior battle strategy and/or against overwhelming odds. However, CFC/HBC are focusing on strategic planning, with the intent to simply kick the "Elite PVP" alliances out of null-sec altogether, no matter how many fleets must be lost doing it. From the way things are going, it's pretty clear that CFC/HBC are pretty much saying, "Either you play EVE null-sec our way, or we'll send you packing." And it looks like it's going to work, too. Winning battles is no longer the issue; winning a war of annihilation is. This isn't a "good fight". It's either you win, or you get wiped out. These "Elite PVP" type alliances need to quit trying to just win battles and figure out how to win a war. As long as they think they can win a war simply by coming out ahead in the battles, they will continue to get beaten. CFC/HBC have demonstrated that they are far better at things like diplomacy, organization, and recruitment, things that are vital to win a war.

      lol, I love how your post gives skilled combat pilots credit, but at the same time try to explain why they're not skilled and should not be credited.
      To me it seems that these unnamed pvpers you are talking about is having a hell of a lot of fun. This is an objective that is always the core of a video-game, but in eve, and especially in sov-warfare, this is often forgotten when looking at a group of pilots. And I think your post demonstrates that quite well. Like null-sec sov is the be-all end-all. I'm sure some people would tell you to go grind a POS while they go out and have fun in low sec. Who wins then?

    I was there, the first bombing run came JUST as we exited a cyno. Grid loaded, saw bombs, activated hardeners and was reduced to 53% structure.

    After some rolling safes we eventually decided to bug out…. bugging out right into a flytrap of bubbles. With the finesse of a drunk monkey, I slapped all modules on, overloaded all modules and got out just in time.

    It was an intense couple of engagements, and our fleet limped home with the smoke of shame, trailing from our rears.
