Well, what I can say? CCP Games is delivering on this front!
DUST 514 Running on Sisi
Best Internet Spaceship pilots!
Today on August 27, 2012, we have reached another milestone with opening DUST 514 on our test server Singularity for EVE players.
DUST 514 was moved to Singularity earlier last week and available there for DUST players. Since then we have worked hard to ensure that interaction between DUST and EVE is possible and stable. This is the first time that players from both EVE and DUST 514 can interact like this on a public (test) server – quite a revolutionary step and we gladly share this moment with you.
Initial Interaction starts now!
CCP Habakuk opened a thread on the Test Server Feedback forum where he elaborated on this milestone:
I am very happy to announce, that Singularity is finally open for both EVE and Dust players.
You will be able to interact with Dust players and you will be able to use Singularity like always, but there are a few caveats:
The current code on Singularity is older than the code on TQ – some stuff will be broken, which is already fixed on TQ (for example the tutorials). The latest balancing changes are also missing on Singularity
Only very basic interaction is possible with Dust players in this version
We know of several issues, which are already resolved in our internal development version.
We might restrict the server again with no warning if we find any critical issues. What’s new?
Chat: You can chat with Dust players in local chat (of several empire systems).
- Hint: The chat UI will be improved a lot, to make it possible to recognize Dust players and to filter them
Eve-Mail: You can send messages to Dust players and they will be able to respond.
- Hint: Formatting will be stripped in Dust clients
Market: Dust items are being listed on the market, but for now it is impossible to buy them with an EVE client.Reporting bugs and feedback:
Please do not write bug reports for problems on Singularity – but post them in this thread. Only write a bug report if asked to in a Dev reply in this thread. On one hand we already know of many issues and on the other hand we want to have one place for all the feedback. So please keep it all within this thread. Thanks!Other info:
Mirror: The current mirror on Singularity was taken on the 10th of August.
Reactivating accounts: More information soon, we are trying to enable automatic reactivation of accounts
Mass-test SP: Will be applied within the next 48 hoursKnown issues:
- Transferring ISK to Dust mercs will send the ISK to the nearest black hole instead.
- Inviting a Dust merc to a private conversation or other chat channels does not work.
- Dust mercs can not join your fleet even though the option is there in the context menu.
- You can’t station trade with Dust mercs even though the option is there in the context menu.
- You can not add a bounty to Dust mercs even though the option is there in the context menu.
- Some of the Dust NPC corporations don’t have a logo yet.
- Dust mercs don’t have a portrait and will just show the default silhouette portrait.Where to find Dust players on Singularity:
You will be able to find Dust players in following systems: Kothe (Kador), Ana (Domain), Marthia (Tash Murkon), Saikanen (The Citadel), Autama (Lonetrek), Soshin (The Forge), Jolia (Sinq Laison), Adacyne (Placid), Halle (Everyshore), Egbonbet (Metropolis), Kasrasi (Derelik), and Javrendei (Heimatar)
I don’t know about you, but an quite excited as the panorama clear a bit on the integration between the two games – I’ll visit the trade hubs in Sisi tonight and see how things work out.

COOL!
Nice post. Looking forward to reviews that dont say test sucks -a- is shit and we allhate goons if your not a goon.
I want to see more replies about how trolls with gnaw on our shins for a couple of pins while they grin.
The "yet" on buying/selling DUST items intrigues me. Could we be getting the ability to sell to (see: price rape) the DUST mercs?
Hopefully, eventually.
But do not get your hopes up on big market rapes. DUST players *will* rape our PI structures in return.
Do not forget POS fuel is best build on Plasma planets and Plasma planets are the rarest planet type iirc. Once they figure this out, and they disagree with us, can we say Bye-Bye to cheap POS fuel and anything that is not Tech1.
Oh, I can hear all the 0.0 tears now. "NERF DUST!"
It will be a long time before dust mercs can fight over anything else than temperate planets so chill. CCP has already halfway given up on trying to make maps for the other planets so it might never happen if dust doesn't sell
not making DUST for PC was f fail
we get it, now stfu
shattered planets are the rarest type… there is plenty of plasma planets.
building pos fuels is best done on barren/earthlike planets… build extraction and stage 1 processing on most planets to get the most out of them then import them onto your factory world to produce the pos fuels ya need.
this saves on alot of hassle when it comes to moving the bulky finished goods.
I've been playing DUST for a week now. I think the concept is great, the game play is fun, as are the mechanics. Still some bugs to work out, but who cares? They're making great headway!
TEST SUCKS, -a- is SHit, and we should all fight goons!!
I am curious about your opinions on major political figures from both American parties. Will you enlighten us please?
Go away troll.
Y U NO LIKE CANADA? We are only 33 million, dont blob countries… and yet your hating canada and promoting fighting goons… look at yourself in the mirrior, if there is an american flag on the door behind you and if you have seen a bee in the months between october-march… you sir are a goon.
Interesting. I just hope DUST514 players can filter local chat, too. Or else they will have entered into a world of spam and scams…
I can imagine them assaulting a world in Fountain. nothing but trolling and spamming 24/7 from TESTards.
Can i nuke the living shit out of dusters?
and we can pew pew your ship
Years to develop and deploy, destroyed in an afternoon. At least if goons or test did it to you, you can only blame yourself. Now you have to own two games to fight back?
Played COD2 was founder member of SAS back in the day – was untouchable in europe – sorry to say but Dust will fail hard – it a very poor FPS – i played it for one day – and its a very very badly designedgame – no interest in playing it ever game – it will die !
The fact you are a COD player tells me you do not know a proper fps if it hit you in the face. I have played COD before and walked away glad I didnt waste 60 bucks compared to 0 for Dust.
Anom is right. COD is for 12 year olds who think fighting in a cardboard box is l33t. Dust has something that will keep people coming back for a long time, free expansions. Every COD game has been like "Hey kids! Want 3 more half-assed maps?! Pay $15 (USD)!" Dust is more like "Hey errbody! Want more guns, vehicles, gear, game modes, and things like taking over planets? Great! Cost? We're CCP, you get this crap for free!"
I still don't think it will last long, but thats only because of the long development they plan to do on it even after it comes out.
If they had the ability to take planets, have bases on them, and so on, when the game comes out, you might get more people to play, and keep playing. However, from all the podcasts and such, it sounds as thought anything close to that is a year away, so how can it possibly hope to keep people playing like eve does?
They can keep players satisfied for a while as long as they have corp v corp at launch, which its now looking like they will (and hopefully some form of alliance v alliance to go with it, as many dust alliances have corps focusing on certain aspects).
PS3 console gamers dont even have many games, and most of them being complete fail mechanic wise, that can properly do a clan v clan (fucking unbelievable i know)… so trust me, they will grab and maintain a lot of people through that alone. And casuals will come and go as they always do.
*"PS3 console gamers dont even have many, literally under a single hand in the HISTORY of the system, proper clan system games (clan system is not just a roster… only fools and idiot casuals think that)…
I dunno I will be playing both now that dust has drawn me back in
Looked forward to DUST, was very disappointed with the graphics….resolution fits more a PSone then a PS3…shame….concept is awesome though.
Have you tried the latest build? The graphics, especially textures are much better now
I would be disappointed at how limited the interaction is at this stage, but I'm just impressed they got it on Sisi at all. I expect we'll be seeing rapid development on all sides for the next several weeks.
The only thing I have to say is:
DUST for PC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will never ever play it on console as I suck with pad…
Picture this: some guy decides to go pick up his PI on a planet, only to suddenly get his Badger blown up, by dusters, who thought he was a threat. This game is going to be awesome
