Greedy Goblin: The Faction Warfare-LP “goldmine” is highly speculative
The blogs, comments and forums are full of Faction Warfare LP collection, as a way to get dirty rich with no risk, skill or effort. I guess anyone who is any level proficient in economics runs screaming from anything that makes him rich with no risk, skills and effort. There were many such things in history, and not one of them ended well.
How does the magic FW-LP goldmine works?
It mostly based on exploiting the bad design of FW mechanics. This should be the first red flag, last time 5 guys did that they got their ISK reverted, but let’s assume that for some reason CCP just fixes the feature and anyone got their loot before the fix could keep it. The idea that they will forever allow making 3-400M/hour by AFK-orbiting an object in an frigate is laughable.
So let’s assume that you can keep the LP and go on. The magic recipe continues that you must reach T5 faction control as it greatly decreases item prices. In the LP store you must pay ISK (or basic item) and LP for a faction item. The higher warzone control decreases these prices greatly. This is the second speculative step, you must assume that your faction will reach it, that CCP don’t change it to something that actually makes sense and you’ll be there to cash out.
Let’s go on. You paid lot of ISK for items that sell high on Jita, you won! Just like every Tom, Dick and Harriett who bothered to do the same. After all you did nothing that needs skill, access to special resources, team or anything. The idea was all over the internet, so the assumption that you’ll do it alone is a bit weird. So in the same minute you create your implant, faction ship or faction ammo from thin air, other thousands or maybe tens of thousands do the same, getting hoards of items that sell in the volume of 5-50/day in Jita. That will be some serious price crash. Last time Minmatar hit T5, all my Rens and Hek buy orders were filled up and they weren’t high. The buy orders disappeared completely, even the very underpriced ones.
Let’s summarize: you’ll be dirty rich by AFKing in a frigate if:
- CCP don’t fix AFKing in a frigate being LP print
- They don’t fix the screwed high warzone control bonuses
- Your faction reaches T5 and you’ll be online when they do so (both Minmatar T5s lasted for an hour or two)
- The prices of the LP store items don’t drop to the floor when it happens
Good luck!
Before you’d say “but incursions were an ISK print for long time before fixed”, please note that incursions needed a team, good skillpoints, good ships, not being wardecced and knowing what you are doing. It locked out like 99% of the players. And even in its peak it was like 100M/hour which is in line with other top-level PvE actions like supercapital ratting or WH capital escalations.
Please read the title again. It says “highly speculative” and not “impossible”. The above conditions are unlikely but can happen. After all those who wrote the posts did these in the previous T5s. Maybe you can do it too. But thinking that you surely can is insane. The speculative profit is very high but it correlates with risks. I always shy away from speculations and never regretted this stance. But that’s just me, who never made good money.

PS:Every now and then someone speaks up that the “mining is boring” problem must be solved. Yet none of them was near even understanding the problem. Until now. This is a “must read” post, especially if you are CSM/CCP.
PS: Titans are still in my hearth so I keep my eye on them. Including this poor thing that died to Mates after jumping instead of bridging. I don’t comment on the mistake itself, but can someone explain why a titan which is not grinding structure protected by 1000 subcaps is in that full DPS fit? I think a titan when not actually deployed to grinding should be fitted to max tank to live long enough if surprised. Am I wrong or the titan pilot was doubly stupid?
Thursday morning report: 151.7B (3.5 spent on main accounts, 2.4 spent on Logi/Carrier, 2.2 on Ragnarok, 1.6 on Rorqual, 1.4 on Nyx, 1.8 on Avatar, 2.6 received as gift)

Wormhole Capital Escalations is a lot more than 100m an hour…….
Am told some guys are capable to bring tens of dreads/carriers into these escalations, greatly bringing up the isk/h rate.
Yup, to do all 4 cap escalations in a site takes about 15min or so with 7 or 8 dreds. got to get that money thing out of the way so we can pew.
Usually it is only 3 dreads max and two carriers, even so, each escalation takes around 20~minutes
lolwhut ? 10 minutes/anomaly 2 moroses/2 archons – and thats if you're slacking.~2+kkk/hour (subject to ribbon prices). But yeah, some days you're just keep getting 162 after 162 and your isk/hour is basically shit.
Forgot to add gas mining in WH. That's a shitload of isk/h by mostly afking, watching movies or whatever.
your an idiot and clearly never gas mined in wh space. if your luck to find the 1 or2 high volume sites found ONLY in a c5 or c6 it takes ages to huff and afking and watching movies is a great way to get jumped…. actually never mind, yes come to wh space an afk in a gas site its really easy money and very safe
I doubt the isk/hour/account can go much up after you bring more than 3 dreads. Since the sleepers need to be webbed and target painted, it won't scale that well.
And anomalies are limited ressources. You rarely have more than 5 to run; usually it's 0, 1 or 2. You better to spread your capital pilots in different wormholes (if you have that many cap pilot and if you are into wh farming).
Interested in knowing exactly how the escalations work in wormhole space. I am also interested in how exactly do these "orbit-afkers" get the LP?
do they orbit a structure and constantly shoot at it? do they take aggro away from another ship that cleans the site up? is it just orbiting and you get LP for being there? how fast do the sites respawn?
the worse the goblins posts are the higher the chance they end up here..
what i mean by that: gevlon has never played fw stuff himself, but posts as if he knows about it (which he does not)
Having done stuff doesn't make you an expert either. His post is a valid opinion, like everybody's else.
R
yes but he doesnt play ANY part of eve. Yet feels the need to speak his work on everything. And while doing so proves he knows little about this game we all love. While at the same time proclaiming hes winning it.
Actually his post is missing the general idea that pushing to T5 isn't something you can do on your own, and for the most part- the larger 'coalitions' within a militia will keep their LP Dumps and pushes secret to that groups leadership.
Join the NPC FW Corp and spinning around buttons is tedious and boring, the warzone is constantly changing, and gate camps, pirates, war targets, hostile militia, and even angry plexers are all working against you.
He also left out that bit about people hopping into your plex taking their fair share of LP for just being there. There are so many things he doesn't seem to understand about it, but- whatever, bring NPC corp plexers to Low Sec… so we can kill you on gates.
I have an opinion about shitty blogs and how the're recirculated on other shitty sites even though I dont blog myself. If I write one up will you post it Riv?
You forgot the shitty people that read what they call shitty blogs on shitty sites and make shitty troll comments about them
better than that faggot marbick
Dead link.. ur a shitposter too!
MINTtani? Retard.
The article is missing the link to the article he linked to about mining.
Here is the link www.gamerchick.net/2012/08/a-miner-problem…
How does the magic FW-LP goldmine works?
How does it works? You tell us
Was happily minding my own Business, and CCP nerfed my NPC belt ratting, whereby once/twice a Month, I would get a nice faction drop such as, DG Inv Field and ofc an Officer.
Since Xmas I have nothing more than ammo grap for busting them belts for a few hours a day. Which I don't think is fair either
Thus got a fw toon and Yes, it's a orbit-king and it has 1mil+ LP, FFS let the small guys earn some isk.
Already bust my arse, and I don't want to be isk-shy either so leave FW as it is.
Thankyou very much.
Dear Greedy Goblin,
remember when you wrote your article on how to make ISKs with new stuff? This here is not much different from what you did. It is the new mechanics and people try to make quick cash with it just like you did with building and selling new (or recently buffed) ships.
Do not disapprove of it only because you do not have the power to do it or perhaps because it was not your idea. Try to see it with the same optimism, which you had when you sold Mackinaws, and be less of a cunt.
Thank you for reading.
This is a bad post. The fact that needy soblin has no first hand experience of the mechanics hes blogging about (again) is painfully obvious.
I made 200+ m isk/h with incursions the few times I tried it and didn't die horribly. But I guess gevlon didn't play eve back then
A talos running forsaken hubs makes 30 mil a tick so 120 mil an hour that's not bad.
Windbag much? Holy crap you just write crap for the sake of writing… here's something to write – narcisisst… look that up
M&S! M&S! M&S! M&S! M&S! M&S!
"And even in its peak it was like 100M/hour which is in line with other top-level PvE actions like supercapital ratting or WH capital escalations."
While your numbers are true for the 99% Highsec PvE done right still is 200m/hour and FW farming is more like 1b/hour.
I find this article versed on economic theory and devoid of journalism.
Plenty of people are going to cash out and make a pretty penny, and some are going to make quite a lot. Every Item you can think of with navy tags is going to be devalued for a 'while'. Think about it for a bit, understand that this will get nuked and think ahead.
Anyways! l8z brah
P.S. Cal dropped 20 Ihubs yesterday.
