Providence still harbours some great PVP experiences for visitors and residents alike, if you are into small/medium gang casual engagement market, this is definitely the place to go – although some times FCs end up bargaining more than they asked for.

Battle Report: The one where Rooks and Kings Annihilates a Provi Bloc Response Fleet.

Early in the evening, reports of a Pure Madness gang appeared in the intel channels. They were reported instantly as they entered Providence from low-sec out of Assah (Derelik). Six guardians, Six Zealots, a Loki, a Legion and Damnation…

Sounds like bait, I think?

ProviBloc got confirmation when someone scouted their Rooks & Kings friends at a Titan nearby. The usual faction battleship hot-drop they know so well.

A bit later, a ProviBloc fleet was forming up, HellCats and guardians, with capitals on standby.

As their numbers grew. A separate shield-based support fleet was put up. Calls went out for more numbers in the fleet coordination channels, and people from all over Providence joined up.

The Pure Madness bait fleet only got two jumps into Providence and the fight took place on the G-5EN2 gate in the 9-F0B2 solar system. As the hostiles were reported next door, ProviBloc burned off a bit to avoid starting the fight at zero.

Rooks and Kings/Pure Madness wasted no time in getting the cyno up and getting their caps and faction bs-es in. ProviBloc responded with caps of their own, all according to their plan.

It was at this point nothing went to the CVA FC’s Plan, he called a couple of Bhaalgorns primary right away. ProviBloc didn’t even come close to breaking their tanks, meanwhile Rooks and Kings began doing what they have become so good at and rendered the ProviBloc cap fleet useless by draining almost every capitals capacitor. ProviBloc even attempted to kill a phobos to no avail.

Then, the CVA FC went down.

After a feeble attempt at trying to put damage on a sieged Revelation failed the order to abort was given by a secondary CVA FC. It was time to get tackle off field and bail.

It seems ProviBloc are still determined to try and still have come out fighting whenever they are given the opportunity. Taking Rooks and Kings on with caps could be seen as brave or perhaps stupid but at least they didnt dock up and blueball them.

John Caffeine from Rooks and Kings said this after the fight:

“Just had a great fight with CVA and the other Providence Holders. Huge props to you guys for bringing a proper fight and having the balls to put caps on field. I hope the result will be more even next time, I fear our fleet was a bit too top-heavy considering the support fleet you guys had, but good show regardless.”

    RnK strikes again!! n1

  • herp_de_derp

Never not engage RnK with a dreadnought fleet.

    • STUPID MAN

Never not engage RnK with any fleet. Let's kill them slowly by not giving them any fights. Ever.

  • The Observer

I don't think "Annihilate" is the right word. Perhaps you should've used more interwebz friendly words like "ROFLstomp" or "OMGWTFBBQPWN"

all joking aside, CVA + pets got rocked HARD while RnK pad their killboard by farming said fail coalition.

    • Booyeah

Do tell us about your grand exploits against RnK.

      • The Observer

LOL, Don't ever fight them. RnK isn't interested in taking sov. But I do beleive 74 kills – 0 losses counts as an absolute rapefest.

  • Humble_Pie

CVA knew they were going to lose, seems like this was an effort to improve…..and there is much room for improvement as we can see.

  • Just Bob

    video of the raep?

  • Bashiri

Is it me or do i see no deaths on one side?

  • Bashiri

Is it me or do i see no deaths on one side?

  • lol

would like a real RNK youtube video

  • http://evenews24.com riverini

Big credit to CVA for battle reporting on an engagement which did not ended up favorably for them. Speaks a lot about them.

    +1

    • always laughahaha

People shit all over them, but aside from the role playing thing they're kinda cool. It's the only place I know where people will undock and engage hostile fleets no matter the size…

      • ANRGY MAN

I think I need to move there and get my ass kicked

      • Bilbo

they are the longest running alliance in the game, too, right?

        • guy

          Them and Ushra'Kahn

          • David_Star

CVA vs Ushra'Khan – FW before FW

      • Will

I think those in ProviBloc who still roleplay are a distinct minority these days.

When we have situations like this where Rooks and Kings, or some other elite group, deploys to our neighborhood the leadership of ProviBloc don't sit back and go "Oh shit, what do we do now? Noone do anything, noone fight, noone undock!". We look at it as opportunities to fight the best and learn from the best. "Okay, let's all go die horribly in a fire, we'll have some fun and maybe learn a thing or two." The most we can hope for is the good spirits of our opponents after their victory. Rooks and Kings gave us that, so we salute them and look forward to more.

    • Bob's capsule

ye props for cva showing they have bigger balls than most

      • macro

Mhm an With ball's you mean winning by blobbing .but this Time the took the wrong guys

        • Truthseeker

Goons never provide BRs where they thoroughly lost and blobbing is all they do.

          • Tinfiol hat

Already droping the name "goon" I can see you're already. Foaming out of the mouth for those cock n ballsz

        • M1k3y

They didn't win. 0 Kills and several billion of losses?

        • Will

Show me on the doll where CVA touched you.

      • Bilbo

Yeah, CVA have big amarrian balls, you have to give them that.

  • Just Bob

    Fantastic.

  • Will

You can see at the end of the video our small WelpPest/Cane gang arrived on grid just as the HellCat group warped off. There was nothing left to do but live up to the name 'welpfleet', but at least our logi got out clean.

  • alex

The ISK gap is too big between those 2 fleet compositions…, anyway props for RNK for fielding those shinys

    • ANRGY MAN

Well, a clean victory is still a clean victory. Props for both sides.

  • Thatguy.

    Hey Rooks & Kings,
I'm Happy for you AN' IMMA let you FINISH…
But Apature Harmonics is the best PVP Alliance of all time,
    Of all time.

  • HR-Provi

ProviBloc showed up, regardless the outcome. Everyone else out there shitting on ProviBloc for these losses are people who would have stayed docked. EVE is about pvp = show up to a fight. Against RnK, when you lose, consider it a lesson in how to improve. Practice on SiSi can only do so much for you, but losing to one of the best in their game can only make you better.

    • inquiring mind

Provibloc are good guys really and history has shown can hold their own. But I have to ask, are proviblock NRDS on SiSi too?^^

      • Will

I don't think we have much presence on SiSi, but I personally would be NBSI all day, errday :P

        • always laughahaha

lol, well considering the size of your kos list, you essentially are.

          • Will

            Point conceded.

  • Devore

R&K will escalate (and out-escalate) anything you throw at them every time. It's pointless to engage them unless you know exactly how to fight their tactics, and have the fleet to do it. Kitchen sink is not it.

    • MANBEAR

      This, pretty much.

  • old timer

RnK are one of the very few real elite pvpers in new eden.

    • grasskit

and if by elite you mean they wont engage anything they cant beat, then yes. dont be under any illusion, rnk are one of the most risk averse entities in eve.

      • Bankbar

if that's true (not debating that it isn't), when every engagement I've seen or heard about is also outnumbered, they can be 'risk adverse' all they want, they're still boss.

      • Bilbo

Most of their battle reports, they are the ones getting dropped on, so its risky place to be with your 8bil vindicator or whatever. Plus if you look at other recent fights:
        http://www.evenews24.com/2012/06/26/battle-in-syn

No other 250man group going to try stuff like that.

      • http://rooksandkings.com Linkypoo

risk averse? that sir, is the most inaccurate statement ever made by a human being…

we have engaged every fleet, at every oppertunity, irrespective of numbers. provide examples or stfu…

        regards,

        Link

  • John Douche

Was there a time when EVE had no e-war? This video seems to be from that time!

    • John Douche

I count one Arazu and one Pilgrim though.

What strikes me as odd is that when you see 6 Guardians plus 8 more Amarr ships coming your way then why would you only want to throw lots of DPS at them and not jam them?!?

  • The_Oracle86

gj to cva for taking RnK's on

  • jeez

Hmm see i always wonder when people get all 'rnk' are amazing its like when people used to do it with Burn Eden. RnK knew exactly what to bring, its a bait hotdrop ffs. They were prepared for the fight, i mean a shit load of balghorns, dreads etc looks to me like a cap killing fleet, plus all the faction BS. Props to CVA they just jumped in. I think rnk prob had a spy.. But look at RnK on a daily basis THEY DO FUCK ALL, check out their KB. like 5 kills a day… so please stop makign out that RnK are some elitist amazing pvp alliance. Yes every now and then they PLAN and look for a hotdrop. Its easy against ppl like CVA. try do it to PL or AAA or NC. then see what happens.. other than that their pilots must be bored shitless, or farmingin isk for those expensive shipos

    • Bankbar

you mean like the video where RnK defended a POS vs AAA with 1 capital and a fleet half the opponent's size including 11 caps, and defended it without taking a single loss? (am I wrong about this?)

    • Harlin Be'quae

I can't remember anyone ever saying Burn Eden were amazing. They were somewhat decent, but a complete one-trick pony.

If you look at what RnK usually bring, Bhaals and dreads are very standard. They allways seem to have dreads on standby, and Bhaalgorns are a common site in most RnK fleets. If they expected CVA to bring triage (which would be likely with the low logi numbers CVA had) they would obviously bring Bhaals to counter those.

    • Bilbo

when fighting the big boys RNK write the battle report… this is cva writing it…

On a day their kb might have nothing, but over a month its incredible for an alliance their size. If you want ten kills a day, camp a gate. Other people look for gangs and fleets.

Also, dont diss on Burn Eden. They were fantastic in their day.

  • ololololoolo

What in the love of fuck is that cva kitchen sink fleet comp? Armor logi, few armor bs, rest shield tempest, drakes and hurricanes?

    • guy

There was a separate shield fleet from -7- that came to assist towards the end

  • J_Murat

Sad day sad sad day for CVA with that loss but they will rebound.

  • Max

Yet another boring blobfight video with bad music. Yawn.

  • Trolls > Goblins

Why does a CVA Vbr have an RnK logo?

E24, are you trying to pass this off as something it isn't?
    :) .

  • abc123

Well who ever the FC of CVA is It would be nice to know so we stat pad our kill board too. The CVA FC just plained failed. Anyone who has been around know RnK are very good at what they do period. So when they decide to fight, one must first ask why before shooting at them. They take risks because they have very well trained people who all know how to employ there weapons correctly.

The FC is only as good as his troops and the troops are only as good as the FC. In this case the CVA FC throwing all them ships away is a prime example of Big Monster Truck – Very Little penius. The FC need to go back to Gate Camp 101 and learn his weapons systems and learn his ablity of his troops before coming back to play the CAPITAL GAME again. RnK FC brought his A-Game. CVA FC didn't and the battle report show it.

    • Bilbo

actually mittens interviewed them, and the CVA FC sounded fairly on the ball. He knew what ships rnk had and made the call to go for it with a plan of taking the bhaals out. It didn't work and everything went downhill from there. But he did have a plan, and although rnk might be risking more expensive ships, for the provi wallet they are risking the same percentage for their pilots. Thats more than you can say for a lot of FCs in Eve. He had everything scouted, a plan, a strong fleet, as many caps as rnk, some backup, pilots ready to fight, etc.. That makes him a good FC no matter what the outcome was in a specific fight against a specific opponent.

      • Amarr is Win.

And it should be added, he cares about the Empress' purity.

  • Suzume

Regardless of the KB I call classic GF. If you never try you will never learn.

  • Gunny

Kudos go to CVA for GF against what is one of the best small Alliances in the game……. RnK

  • Bob from marketing

No wonder they didn't kill a single rnk ship….look at the video….with that type of logi pilots (inexperienced i meant)….and also LATE broadcasts from dps ships….no wonder they lost…Remote armour reps cycling from the guard pilot was a bit awful…he joined a fleet as a logi pilot and only 10 sec before the fight starts he sets up his broadcast to SHOW ARMOUR AND CAP requests…….also not to mention that ( i may be wrong) he is in a rush to align out and warp….
