I often use EVE as a glorified chat room when I cba being in fleet. I still log into the client loads without actually flying in fleet because of personal time restraints. I can still follow everything that goes on in-game, chat to people, follow tweetfleet, news sites, kugu, etc without ever having to get into an actual ship. I know lots of people who 'play' EVE without ever flying at all.

So to clarify, maybe rather than saying 'not logging in', we should say, 'not flying in fleets', a subtle but important distinction.
