I would imagine reading one of the several hundred guides on mining is difficult, and nearly as difficult as managing 10-15 guys that are actually willing to mine for hours on end.

I mean- it's so damn hard, people manage 20 accounts by themselves, with Orca Support/Links, and Haulers.

No. You need to know which asteroids pay the best ISK/m3, then find the belts where you can mine enough of them, get them refined and haul it to the best buyers, which is not always Jita, but depends on how far you have to haul it. You also have to organizing a fleet with Orcas and a freighter if you are really want to do some mining.

yeah in null, I don't really care about that.
afk ice miners should be shot in a body part of choice, in my opinion hoping there will still be gankers game enough to try their luck.

but with the rigs and the hulk I think I can just about get on par with current mack, so I guess one less reason to fly the mack.
sure a larger ore hold is fine for solo miners but for any sort of mining fleet it's pretty useless.

Add to the old yield the cost of ganked Mackinaws… I am certain the -25% ISK/hour is a rather nice trade-off for being able to hold 37 ice blocks and not losing your Mackinaw every 2-3 days.

will they change the costs of production / blueprints?

As for the frigates. the new role based changes are not reflected in the costs of producing them (still the increasing cost from frig to frig and barge to barge). Will the blueprints change too?

um.. currently the mack mines 4000 m3 per cycle with it's ice role bonus. the best mining ship now will mine 3000 m3.

25% drop in yield is substantial really.
double checked (based on other forum posts) but boosted mack would get about 64 blocks/hour, which gives 17.7m3/second. so yeah that looks like about 25% less yield.

guess i'm stocking up on jumpfuel / doing icemining while it is still (remotely) worth the effort.

jetting ore isn't that big of a problem in 0.0 . If your afk that long you will loose your ships anyway

You should look at some of the ganks Gunpoint Diplomacy has done then. 10-12 destroyers ganking Orcas and Vargurs next to their lowsec.

One thing not said or even hinted at by ccp, look for the coming nerf/ removal of jetcans after this is deployed and working .Since day one ccp has hated the use of jetcans and with the addition of the ore holds they can finally nerf/eliminate them. My guess would be jetcans redued to maybe 1000m3 ,enough to space trans ammo.

The best will pick a nice balance between yield and tank. But if you're in an area where you see lots of mack killmails and don't fit a tank, you will be one of them before long…
