With the wars in Delve over and the battles in the Dronelands decidedly boring and unimportant, the protagonists of our universe once again die gleefully over Moon-Goo. This battle report is put together from three separate sources coming from both sides that, not surprisingly by the look of the kill board, agree on who the victor was. Relevant links at the bottom.
Battle Report: Kick to the Sack – DekCo Loses a Tech Moon!
Venal space; the Gurista pirates swear on their mother’s eye patch that it belongs to them. On paper maybe, but it is an area firmly held in the grip of DekCo. The goo that drips off the moons in this area, as in others, drives the universe and its economy. And thus it drives the bloodshed generated over ownership of this resource that for now is still invaluable.
After having reinforced a Tech-moon POS belonging to Convicted in the 42XJ-N system a couple of days before, on July 22nd Black Legion needed to take it down and claim it for their own. Being a long time pain in the neck for DeckCo, BL called on their long time friends in Nulli Secunda who were only too happy to help. A fleet was set up consisting of AHACs and logi with Dreadnaughts and Carriers on standby.
Forming up in a standard Drake fleet, DekCo members headed out to 42X with the clear intent of stopping this attempt at their livelihood. Both fleets eventually fielded the same numbers, around 190 ships, but from the start it was evident that the moon would change hands.
According to both sources, BL and Nulli arrived in the system ahead of the Goons and established a beachhead on the gate. The defenders jumped into the system to find the waiting committee ready and immediately tried to pull range with their Drakes. This tactic was denied them, perhaps by a webbed anchor pilot or by the confusion of the battle and disorientation of their pilots. The result was simple, the defending fleet began to melt quickly despite logistic attempts. The battle escalated as the Goon FC had a Cyno lit and brought on some eight or nine carriers to help, but the Nulli/BL team were ready for this and countered with carriers and dreadnaughts of their own.
Even though they tried to repair it in the face of overwhelming firepower from the enemy, the DekCo POS eventually came down along with several of their carriers, dealing perhaps not a heavy blow to DekCo but one that surely stings. Black Legion and Nulli Secunda put down their own POS and can now be smug and beat themselves in the chest; they have secured a Tech-Moon. It remains to be seen if they can hold it and if they can wrestle some more out of DekCo hands.

Second, the drakes should try to carry diffrent types of ammo instead of just 1,cuz the enemy might get notice of that and start fielding 90+ kin rezist ships.
Third thing bring more scimis cuz 13 scimis for a full fleet at close range of the enemy is pretty low. 30 scimis for some 200+ would be optimal.
Also Huggins and Lachesis are a must, 4-5 each should do it.
In conclusion the drake fleet should always win because they can use range with mwd against Ab Zealot.
BC's should always beat HAC's, but FC's can single-handly lose fights.

It's really not that difficult to do- just learn to stop fighting people on their terms. Want to completely disrupt a CFC fleet, kill the stragglers- of course going head on against the blob will cause you to lose most fights.
This would be a feat if they actually held it for any length of time (which they said they knew they couldn't) but would be fun to see them try.

Won't matter, Goonswarm is like the Roman Empire. They can loose endless quantities of men and equipment and still win in the end. They run a disciplined operation with huge resources, and even if Nulli Secunda runs them through Cannae a few times Goonswarm will survive it and come back hard. They only way you can beat foes like Goonswarm is to rot them out from the inside.

Also there was an amusing fight yesterday where Nulli warped into a GSF pos and then got ejected when the password was changed, whereby a lot of Nulli's were tackled immediately including progod in a Vulture I think which caused them heavy losses and just minutes later they bubbled themselves so we could slaughter the majority of their Naga fleet with exactly one interdictor loss total. That was fun, though it isn't about numbers or our site's prowess but rather the multiple fuckups of nulli.

Get your acts together and wake up those nasty carebears you have in your alliances. The level of comprehension in regards to how many coalitions have broken infrastructures compared to CFC is making lurkers(like me) laugh 'til they're crying. Play the game how it's meant to be played and ditch those 'veteran' leaders selling off game items for real money. Perhaps like a few successful coalitions it's relevant to be efficient and organized during this time if you all truly are worthy of 'owning' your space.
Respect for the last brawl as it looked like all fun and games to me. The game was being played like it's meant to be played. Not some washed up 'dock and smack' gameplay that was and still is to be seen by names I won't even bother mentioning. Considering such gameplay is applied amongst other dreadful topics such as this with the majority of alliances and coalitions. It's fairly obvious the CFC holds the iron fist in being one of most structured and organized coalition currently present in Eve. Those lacking creativity believe the change of goo will affect those owning a vast quantity of the currently 'high end' material. I can only say that there is a lot left to learn for these players before they realize that it's not the goo that makes the swarm as great as they are.
