What follows is the rough translation of the original post by Blaster Worm on the EVE-RU forums. Since we have failed to cover the Geminate conflict so far, this should serve as a very good starter’s thread.

A tale of Northern Lights – Geminate war update.

Never thought I would have chance to participate in a “Perfect war”. The kind of “War” that is so needed in EVE right now – epic battles, battles that last for hours, fighting with full force pushing every opponent to its maximum and beyond. Tension of forces and the stubborn opposition of equal opponents. War, that has nothing similar to characteristics that current conflicts have in EVE – Trash talks in local, backstabbing and other shit that flows down in every conflict…

Ask me and I’ll tell you how I consider ourselves lucky. I’ve got a feeling that the old EVE myths are becoming real. Myths, which are seeded in EVE history with its ancient Scandinavian names. I was thinking a lot trying to understand what this war looks like until I remembered Valhalla. Place where honorable warriors were fighting every day, dying and reviving to join the fight again.

The place for such epic battles is Geminate. A useless region and nobody truly needs. A Region without any major resources that can make you rich, save a few technetium moons. A place useless even for renting alliances. During the time when there were no jump freighters or any other capital ships this region served as a gateway to Cache – very rich region of east for that time. For old SOLAR FLEET pilots Geminate is sort of memorial. A place, that brings good memories about war with Curse Alliance and old incarnations of Red Alliance.

Even after SOLAR gained access to empire through LXQ2-T, Geminate still remained as one of strategic corridors. Despite that JFs do all logistics today and entry systems lost their strategic meaning Geminate still remains as a base for expansion from East to North.

Geminate was a buffer zone for almost any war that involved that region. Nobody actually kept it for real. Every coalition was trying to establish base there before beginning expansion to surrounding areas. I think I will be correct saying that Geminate is always on fire, in any given season there’s always a war raging. Only difference is balance of powers from each side.

In this season Geminate was taken by SOLAR FLEET. They quickly drove Red Alliance from region. From very beginning Geminate was given to Red Alliance by MACTEP. Funnier part is that NCDOT is currently fighting SOLAR. NCDOT – Alliance that was one of the strongest parties in Southern Coalition apart from Pandemic Legion. Also current member for Technetium Coalition.

So if SOLAR FLEET views Geminate as a memorial then what is it for NCDOT?

Let’s see who are NCDOT. It is another incarnation of old and evil alliance called Triumvirate. Alliance that flashed brightly in eve universe every time it was born and fail cascaded the same way. After becoming part of anti-nc coalition they managed to fulfill their old dream and erase NC from eve. They even took the name of dragon they killed. NCDOT consists of many famous corporations like D00M. or BURN EDEN – Synonyms of TRUE PVP. I’ve to admit that this is my favorite enemy. Enemy, which I would be happy to see as a friendly entity. It’s also strange to see DICE there – Ex-BoB member.
So why true pvpers from NCDOT need more space? I think it’s all about a “good fights”. Their income from technetium is more the enough so I doubt they want it for some additional income. By NAPing with CFC they forsaken themselves to look only on east for getting a fights. So their interests crossed with SOLAR.
Another participant in this conflict is Evoke. Very young alliance (at least for me), mostly consists from German-speaking corporations with interesting history. Some of them are from Kraftwerk. Old players remember them well from Scalding Pass region. Cataclysm Enterprises – corporation that build first station in RNM-Y6. Core corporation – Evoke. Member of KrautbreaK. 0utbreak (legendary PVP corporation) was also member of that alliance. Germans – very persistent, well organized guys with good discipline. With very emotional and bold pilots from D00m. and other NCDOT corporations it gives a nuclear mixture of fire and steel.

About Gipsy Band – I don’t think there’s a need to say anything. All I can say is that in this conflict we are not facing pilots that are impregnated with some hypnotoads and are viewing Gipsy adequately – through epic fight results.

From beginning SOLAR+Gipsy face a well organized attack by NCDOT+Evoke. ISK coming from technetium allows them to field an expensive Loki fleet. That fleet composition was a big pain in the ass for Maestroms and Tengus. Fights were massive and bloody. And it was not some carebaer drake slugfest. It was a fight of well trained and skilled pilots from both sides. Rd of July looked like a tipping point in this conflict after NCDOT derped Loki fleet. Fight if July 7 was really an epic fight. War is raging on and nobody knows the way it will come out for involved parties. But as for me, I want it to last forever and think the enemy wants the same.

Every fight is saturated with skills and technology. Complicated fleet compositions, maneuvers, multiple fleet doctrines covering weak sides of friendly fleet and countering strong part of hostile fleet. We killed 116 (!) hostile logistics on 7th of July – EPIC!

Walhalla. Yes I already said that – warriors were fighting every day, dying and reviving to join the fight again. I think this is what CCP was willing to receive. But unfortunately current conflicts in eve are driven by trolls, goblins and other shit. I feel disgrace when reading topics about war in Delve. Every fight in Geminate begins with silent in local and ends up with “good fights”:

This is really a perfect war of veterans. Veterans that want to have good fights and fun times.
Destruction of NC and DRF was needed to get all this, but hey – this is actually a PVP which was a myth for all this time, myth that nobody wanted to believe any more.

But all who fight in Valhalla know that Ragnarök is about to happen. War in which gods will die and universe will reborn. Think we are approaching to this last big battle. Somehow I think that parties in Geminate conflict will be on same side soon.

So Solar Fleet hasn’t given goodfights for a while, and has let NC., Ev0ke, and Ewoks take a lot of systems in Geminate without fights. Finally NC. and friends got bored, and went today with a small fleet Drakes so that Solar Fleet would undock and fight. And a slaughter it was as Solar kicked NC/v0ke/woks ass:

However, it seems that Solar got a bit too excited, and thought that NC. and friends would be all demoralized about this lost battle. So they went on to shoot an NC. POS with dreads. However, it so happened that NC./Ev0ke/Ewoks was well ready to drop by Solar’s dread party. 18 Solar dreads were slaughtered in a very short order:

    Its Gypsy* not Gipsy -.- ANYWAYS Solar Coalition and NCdot should should settle there differences and go after the goons. Would be some nice fights and give the SOCO a more of a chance to finally take down the CFC

          CFC is like 50K players. NC. and like alliances dont enjoy Sov grinds or blobing.

          All the northern alliances outside of CFC could not fight man to man against the CFC.

          PS, I'm fairly certain AAA asked Solar to distract Evoke from going to Delve. NC. are bros with Evoke. Aka your plan is dumb.

          PSS: Alies and Axis were not on the same ratio scale as CFC and SOCO and tech team.

            I never said SOCO vs CFC was on the same scale as Allies and Axis, but it was the first metaphor I thought of for a war on two fronts.

        -A- is a dead alliance which has lost space over and over, every coalition who has taken space and said -A- is dead, is now dust. We have been top on kills for as long as I can remember, not because we obsess over it or it is the most important thing to us, it's just we kill shit day in day out in any way we can.

        In the end -A- will grind opponents down for months for years for decades however long it takes. NC. know better then to try that card again and I am glad they solar and gypsys are getting some good fights in Geminate.

      Unfortunately there is no coalition in the game that can match CFC US tz and EU would be a challenge as much as everyone would like it. CFC is just that big.

      NC. + Evoke and Solar Co is fun for both because nothing is really at stake and they can actually stand toe to toe in the EU tz.

        EU Timezone CFC used to get raped not so long ago when it was just RDN. & NC. fighting them,so if a new coalition was formed CFC in EU timezone would welp like 95% of the time,CFC only got numbers,they DO NOT evidently have skill,so US Timezone is were they would be getting success!

    Fights are 400ish vs 400ish, no Tidi, no lag, perfect.

    No way do we want to go whack at massive 1k man blobs with with other 1k man blobs.

    There will always be a supercoallition larger and stronger than any other, if one falls, another will rise.
    No real point in always trying to upseat them.

    Just had an amazing fight across 3 systems with people reshipping and coming in over and over.

    Evoke supers got tackled after we killed IHUB, everyone piled on, but NCdot+co managed to clear all HIC and dics.

    After this, NCdot decided to whelp drakes, so we ended up in a fight next door, whelping half our fleet to zealots/maelstroms, with dead people reshipping to abbadons.

    Abbadons come in, NCdot won that fight, gf's all around.

    Fleet record for deaths was 7 deaths across multiple characters i think.

    In all honesty, I think FA could master Evoke in a few weeks all by themselves. Without NC., they are useless, always have been, always will be. Evoke, disban now and save yourself from another loss like WWI and WWII.

    The "best" fights are completly dependant on who you talk to, I prefer the massive scale of the 1000v1000 fights. Just because you think geminate has the best fights does not mean it does.

    SOLAR and Gypsy have, throughout this conflict, brought an amazing fight. One of the best times I've had in Eve. It's rare that you get the sort of war where each side has equal strength and skill. The battles in geminate are sometimes lasting 3-4 hours of non stop action. Honestly can't beat it.

    NC giving good fights? ya ok i recall 200 man blob hot drops on 30 man fleets if thats good fights i dont know what your smoking. Nc dot dosnt fight they bash stations and pos. Go drive through geminate you wont see ncdot any where. Oh also dont even mention brick squad once or any of the other alliances in the area. More one sided reporting from this website. Solar and Brick humiliated ncdot thats the only really they are so butthurt to take geminate now using massive numbers. Real plot of the story is epic butthurt

    NCdot are really just a Goon buffer from Solar atm. The reality is simple, PL and NCdot have become the absolute incarnation of the thing they used to cry on and on about the old NC. Neither are that good at pvp or much else for that matter anymore, they are just on the Goon tit of blob.

      They're good at fleet pvp, there's no real question about that. But yeah they are basically under Goon control with any major actions they take. Hopefully the tech moon nerf will make them be a bit more independent again.

    Love fighting NC./Evoke/Ewoks. They bring the big fights, and they are not afraid to loose ships. I've been in some of the big fights in Geminate as an UNTHINKABLE's pilot, along side Solar and Gypsy. We've won some battles and so has NC. and friends.

    And yeah the article could have had a bit about INK. Other then that….. FINALLY news about the great fights in Geminate.

    As for the troll about renters….. you need to lvl up trolling to lvl 5 then you might be effective eh ROFL.

    I love how Solar and friends, and NCDOT and friends are all high fiving and declaring the best fights they've had in EVE and that troll outsiders think they can declare Geminate everything but awesome fun.
    NCDOT and friends have the greatest respect for our "current" enemies, and I can tell you that CFC would find trouble if NCDOT, Evoke, Solar, Gypsies, and friends all sided with SoCo.

    Hmm could only wish there was a lot more of the smaller BIG fleet battles like those which are going on in Gem ATM as this mega blobbing crap gets really boring really quick.

    The writer of this article will probably kick themselves for writing about how the fights are great ATM as someone will have to come along and try to fuck it all up now you watch.

    Solar have always seemed a lot stronger than the size of the alliance would otherwise suggest and whether thats due to having good pilots with abilities or just a good FC I have no idea but they seem to pull stuff off that alliances twice their size would fail at trying to do.

    As for NC. well if they are the old Tri renamed and reformed with a few new faces heres hoping they do what Tri has always done and fall apart then disappear :p

    Anyways: Id love these parties to stop – get into a coalition against CFC and attack all Venal, Tenal and Branch moons and of course station sys of Branch and Tenal!!!
