What follows is a report from Rooks and Kings about hostilities in the Syndicate region.
Battle in Syndicate: Fatal Ascension, Rooks ‘n Kings, UMAD, Agony Empire & Pandemic Legion
Although we’d caught Fatal Ascension in a number of successful pipebombings (e.g. http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=13732692) during their Syndicate deployment, we were looking for an opportunity to tackle them head on.
FA had previously lost a fair few ships to Pure Madness in a no-nonsense Tempest vs. Triage engagement (eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=13721209), so we decided that they’d be likely to bring a larger, heavier fleet this time to a Pure Madness tower that was coming out of RF.
And so it proved: FA formed up a fairly large (around 100) fleet of Tempests, Scimitars and Scorpions. They also appeared to form a second group of bombers, who bridged to the destination ahead of time, presumably to prepare bombing runs (having previously been on the wrong end of one at the hands of Ineluctable).
For our part, the Navpoc flag was being flown by Pure Madness, who inherited our usual role. They were joined by nine battleships from Agony Unleashed. This gave us a total of 27 battleships.
Would 27 battleships be able to break the rep of some twenty scimitars? If not, the Tempests would certainly be a threat to Pure Madness’ triage rep, in addition to the challenges of keeping the their rep going under the likely FA bombing runs.
The complexities of that escalation equation were solved, however, when a cyno opened and Fatal Ascension dropped dreads on the tower.
A brave Agony dictor warped in to bubble them and our cyno went down too. We dropped them heavily: 14 Pantheon carriers, 8 dreads, a Nyx and 3 titans. Six FA dreadnaughts were killed quickly (three by Doomsday).
Their Tempests then tucked into UMAD’s first triage. UMAD’s Navpocs and Agony’s BS, for their part, locked horns with FA’s logistic rep. FA were hero repping ships out of armour and structure but nontheless, Tempests were sinking.
At around 20% armour, UMAD’s Qwerty Deluxe left triage and was repped and re-capped by the Pantheon spider.
A similar situation befell Puls4r’s Moros, who was primed but able to refit and coast out of siege and get rep.
Meanwhile, attempts to neut the Pantheon group allowed us to hurt the hostile cap situation, by refitting to capacitor batteries as appropriate.
During this time, all 27 battleships of Pure Madness and Agony remained alive and well, and now cutting through FA support at a ferocious rate. The support’s damage was aided, too, by fire from the capitals. FA’s efforts now seemed to be centering on sending lost pilots back in new ships with a singular aim: to tackle the three titans.
Since they were not killing anything, sending ships to the grinder had to mean that they were trying to hold the supers for a batphone.
A mix of damage, neuting and ECM drones drove down the last of the HIC bubbles and, shortly after our titans and supercarrier jumped out, a new cyno lit and more CFC and a Pandemic Legion supercap fleet jumped in.
At this point we put in the password and all entered the shield. FA were sensing blood and rapecaged the tower with a large number of light dictors and HICS, to prevent the capitals being able to jump out. Since the tower had only just left reinforced, this meant that if they killed the tower, they’d have all the capitals served up in a sea of bubbles.
However, Goldsnake now called for the ‘Starburst’. Although it took a few moments to compute, the order then clicked and the tower password was changed. Aside from an Archon who bounced off PL/FA supers and back toward shield and two sieged dreads, our capitals suddenly leapt clear of all bubbles – some as far as 200km – and safely jumped out.
My Archon settled down at 7km/s as it jumped, after originally breaking 13km/s on the speedometer:

RAW Intel:
Here is another tip about the same fight we received today, just to add up to the whole article.
FA was shooting a (I think) Neo moon in 8-J, with their usual Tempests+support fleet, probably around 100 of them, and dreads. Pure Madness, Rooks and Kings, and a smattering of Agony Empire (all longtime Syndicate residents) dropped on them to try to save the tower, with a bunch of Armor BS, supported by triage carriers and dreads and a few supers/titans. The fight was going heavily in PM-RnK’s favor, with nothing besides a random t2 cruiser on their side dead and the Tempest wrecks stacking up, when all of a sudden cynos and bubbles started popping up. PL came in with a ton of supers, followed by a few supers on FA’s side, and sent PM-RnK packing, at the cost of a few caps. They extracted relatively cleanly for what could have been disastrous, but did end up losing the moon.
