In another twist in the drone region alliance politics, it seems that Str8nge Brew have been evicted by Legion of xDeathx. XIX were not happy with Str8nge Brew and the fact that they had aligned themselves with IRC in the civil war, an effective back stab attempt. Str8nge Brew then followed in IRCs footsteps and also switched sides again after Pandemic Legion and Northern Coalition. arrived to help XIX.

Deconstructing a Str8nge Brew.

On the evening of the 12th a large fleet appeared in the Str8nge Brew home system of P-WZKH. This fleet was blue to Str8nge Brew but suspicions were raised. These suspicions were confirmed when all of Str8nge Brew were kicked from the drone regions intel channels. This newly hostile fleet then began to deploy SBUs, and attack the cyno jammer and jump bridge. After the jammer went down capitals were brought in to hit the station services. For the follow few days Str8nge Brew attempted to fight back with a surprising degree of success. The XIX staging tower in the system was destroyed after it was left unstronted, the Str8nge Brew cyno jammer POS was also saved and the jammer redeployed.

On the next reinforcement timer Str8nge Brew attempted to kill the SBUs before XIX forces came into system. Unfortunately for Str8nge Brew they were too late and XIX were able to rep up the SBUs and reinforce the Station and Ihub. The Jammer POS was also killed this time as Str8nge Brew made the mistake of not restronting the tower.

After this is seems that Str8nge Brew stopped putting up meaningful resistance. Str8nge Brew currently has 3 systems and 2 outposts remaining. It is probably only a matter of time before these too are taken over by XIX and Str8nge Brew is forced back to empire.

The reasons as to why XIX did this are quite obvious. As an alliance that recently had its own existence on the line having not very long ago such fair weather friends nearby is obviously not preferable. There are reports that Str8nge Brew agreed to pay XIX 400 battleship hulls in order to regain blue standings and that this was not delivered. This rumour was denied by Str8nge Brew directors when asked by their member.

They continued to fight IRC after IRC ceased anti-sov operations (after xdeath payed PL to face stomp them). IRC slaughtered BB and chased them off their Oasa doorstep. Haven't seen bot bound in or near cobalt edge since.

IRC was on the doorstep of Brew because Legion (XIX) was unable to defend OASA, we were told by UAXDEATH that no help would be available for 2 weeks and all of OASA would or could fall before any action would be taken (meaning PL arriving as usual to fend off IRC).

Brew made an agreement with UAX to swap sides till that time and save our asses.
So UAX had full knowledge in advance and agreed with the plan (there is audio of this recorded, not in my possession, but it may come out at some time in the future).

After things calmed down in OASA Brew repatriated, but there must have been some internal conflict putting pressure on or outright duplicity on the part of UAX, either way we held up our end and we were ultimately backstabbed by UAX.

Certainly on the surface it seemed like Brew back stabbed but we did so with UAX's full knowledge and planned in advance to return with his blessing (yes there were other details to the plan but none that matter here).

So FU XIX and XWX I think your soft underbelly has been properly revealed now (you can't fight your own fights on the big scale). I'm sure it won't be long before someone comes knocking at your door when PL isn't available to save you.

I've never had a problem with IRC, and conversations with Brew membership bare this out to be the norm in that alliance. Things happened as they did as a survival tactic – nothing more. The backstabbing (make no mistake – that's what it was) was unexpected but the tactic still largely worked. SB pilots flew alongside IRC during the old NC campaigns and we shared success and.. sometimes rides home in our pods together.

Recently the 3-J station was renamed Morphiana's Failure. I can see the playground-grade 'dig' intended, no doubt humorous at some level…

      For the record:
Str8nge Brew was an alliance of nearly 800 members at its peak, held sov in (at one time) some dozen systems and owned four stations, all of which they built themselves.

Str8nge Brew has been XIX'd before – when they were a tiny alliance who's members really couldn't afford to lose another Rifter, much less a Drake or 'cane. They survived long enough that XIX eventually set them blue, via combination of determination and a little diplomacy.

SB existed as a going concern starting over two years ago. During their time as an alliance they've built caps, supers, stations and just about everything else in the game both for their own use and for the market at large. The -average- SB member can build caps, mine, refine, PI, research AND fly a PVP ship competently. They may not get the practice needed to be on the level of mainly-PVP alliances but they do alright, and they help when they're asked to and often when they're not. Some build, some fight – they chose build – if you think that's a poor choice you should wait around to see if your super builds itself.

They're still here. Membership is strained and some very key people have been put in situations that required them to seek life elsewhere in Eve. Thing is? The SB membership wishes them well, not ill.

There may be 100 or even 200 people who've EVER played the game that can lay claim to better. The rest might want to stick to the monkey bars before deciding who's a failure and who isn't.

Pilots of SB are generally good guys, albeit some are a tad misguided in where they place the blame for the recent turn of events. Its unfortunate your leadership chose to lead you down the path it did. Hence the name "Morphiana's Failure" and not Brew's Failure. Unfortunately, Morph's failure to place the interests of his alliance ahead of his own personal asshattery resulted, as it always does, in the corps and pilots paying the price.

Strange Brew pilots actively fought alongside IRC in some important engagements against xdeath and friends. In one fight, Brew ships made sacrifices to help save Intrepid Crossing carriers. Perhaps xdeath did not anticipate Brew's temporary bluing of IRC and Solar as being anything more than a phones convenience, but Brew behaved (in IRC eyes) more honorably than that.

And xdeath loves nothing more than vindictively beating on smaller alliances while telling themselves they are being "just". Makes them feel like big bad baklany.

Don't think that this is anything but XiX wanting to no longer rent one of their prime ICE systems (-1.0 true sec) because of the ICE wars and the stress of multiple fronts. To all the renters and corps that joined xdeathx, you now know where you stand. BREW had rl ties, and still got backstabbed — think about it.

Its no secret that XiX got a little soft over the years. It happens to most if not all alliances. Time will tell if its a wakeup call or just a wake. From what info I have gathered it appears that Solar was gearing up for attacking XiX for a significant amount of time while XIX thought it could be settled diplomatically. What it boils down to is BREW was supposed to supply 400 battleship hulls to XIX and also drop sov in a couple systems they took while on the other side. BREW leadership (Morphiana or Strikerstar probably) delayed and whined for weeks before the attack took place.

After the initial sov attacks BREW let it be known repeatedly in local that they knew they were gonna get backstabbed and thats why they didnt fulfill their part of the deal.

So yes BREW did get backstabbed but the amusing part of this tale is that they backstabbed themselves by not fulfilling their end of the deal. Thus ends the second (maybe third???) great Oasa carebear jamboree.

As someone who took part in the initial ops against Str8nge Brew I can say that after our initial opening salvo where it was made clear that we were going to start rolling over them, all fleet operations were halted for a good two hours while some high level negotiation happened. Now I wasn't at these negotiations however I do remember quite a large bunch of fellas sitting around in sub, caps, and supercaps wondering what was going to happen next.

What happened next was we were given the green light to continue operations. So I am assuming that Str8nge were given a diplomatic way out, and chose to ignore it. So you can whine all you want but at the end of the day you only have yourselves/your leadership to blame.

I was there and observed multiple, separate shadow/pet fleets performing different tasks, both in P-Z and elsewhere via alts both in and out of SB. Operations never stopped overall – there may have been one or two groups without clear orders at given times but there was never a total cease-fire. Too, a way out was offered, honored by SB then repudiated by XIX/XWX/PET leadership. Whatever lull there was in hostilities coincided event wise with the 'negotiations' furthering this cause – this comes not from my assumption but rather observation of the events themselves.

Confirm that Brew asked to be let to flip. In return they had certain responsibilities that they did not fulfill. BUt they were allowed back blue, much to the chagrin of many blues in the area. What did them in was they made demands upon their safe return to blue status, did not fulfill their obligations post-return, and leadership ran their mouths as though they were owed something for their valor. In the end, because of the views expressed by Morph and Striker, Brew as a whole was deemed decidely untrustworthy in the face of the ongoing war. As a result they were asked to drop sov and be given free passage out of the region. Brew leadership declined that offer and a somewhat slow paced burning of their two primary systems was achieved. No attempt was made to rape cage their systems and stop them from evaccing. The intention was never to make them pay, just to get them out. In the end, that objective was achieved. No backstabbing occurred. Morph and Striker were both told there would be consequences for them continuing to run their mouths. Its really as simple as that. They were simply served an eviction notice. No real massive drama behind the scenes.

In other words – enough complaining happened among alliances who's assets were engaged during the conflict when brew was sided with IRC that something had to be done; again the inmates running the asylum. Also, what point is there in giving assets to an alliance who's clear intentions were to reset and engage.

Claims of being nice about an evac are fine; I wonder if similar claims apply to former Solar – occupied systems which have sat contested for days on end, with no real conflict, or final seizure of sov. Or, is it just the isk to pay PL ran out and now the DRF pilots are actually busy?

No, the desire of some to attack Brew for flipping were held in check, both when they were neut as well as after. It wasn't until after they had been back and just started acting as though they were owed something for saving their own asses that the thoughts started changing among leadership. Once the deicsion had been made to evict them, that is when scouting their systems began. Even when the unopposed eviction commenced, leadership attempted to negotiate, albeit at gunpoint. Only then did Brew return sov on a system they had been told to vacate, but it was really too little too late at that point. Once you make the threat, the relationship is over. Its just a matter of how it ends. But it has to end none the less because neither side would trust the other after that line had been crossed.

    Lets get some facts strait.
1.) The only reason that anyone got a dread kill, was because we allowed it. We didn't want to firesale them, and it was just hilarious to insure them, then suicide them on the SBU in P-ZWKH. (I was one of the dread pilots). And I have to say, it was HYSTERICAL! We knew full well we'd loose them, ell I personally Undocked to see multiple supers on the station.. SO you really can't give the BB a lot of credit for getting an Onyx to warp on us, .. congrats you caught two sieged dreads. Want a cookie?

Now, about the Battleship hulls.. They had been built, a head of time, with extra's. (That's just how we roll). As a member of Brew's leadership, I am well involved in what and where most everything is. I can confirm the existence of the Battleships. Shit a bunch of em rolled off my assembly lines. So let there be no further discussion about dues not being paid, or promises not being kept.

Brew was removed from Oasa, simply because it pleased Devon Lightfoot to do so. A quick google of his name shows multiple instances of who he's fucked, and how hard. This individual makes an EVE career out of screwing who ever he can. And only add's to the aura of mistrust that surrounds XIX.

Don't worry it's only EVE, nothing really ever dies

and thats where you just don't get it. Nobody cares what rolled off your lines Mr. Production Manager role player. They cared about what got delivered as agreed upon, along with various and sundry other issues that culminated in our tacking an eviction notice to your door. That's how we roll. You probably should be less concerned with your ability to build ships in the damn drone regions. We're all builders in the land of the alloy. Maybe next time we'll have a build off to see who controls your systems. In the end, you simply chose to not deliver on your end of the bargain. So once again, piss poor leadership. Perhaps Morph wasnt the only one to blame. It seems like the top of SB may have been riddled with dumbasses. Congrats.

I find it several things amusing about some of these comments. Let me take them one at a time for clarity's sake.
All the comments about how PL is saving XIX that allude or even outright state that there is some shame to be had in having friends or hiring assistance with a fight, are very funny to me. Having the biggest stick is by far not the only way to win a war. It really sounds like a lot of people being butt-hurt because they have a personality as welcoming as three week rotten meat and therefor can't make enough friends to help them out if they get into trouble. This argument is on the same semantic level as saying, "The only reason they survived is they have bigger ships….or more people….or more isk…..of more SP's" Like it or not, having friends is an important asset to have in this game.
As to the specific situation with BREW, little that the BREW supporters have said here is anything more than either propaganda from leadership that banked on a "real life tie" that obviously wasn't mutual or blatant fabrication to try to minimize their shame for being fail. I'm sure that someone will respond to this point with some witty justification for why the victim of stalking is somehow at fault for this mistaken "connection". Whether or not there was an arrangement made before BREW "flipped", upon their return they agreed to supply a certain amount materials. There always seemed to be some excuse as to why they couldn't deliver, some reasonable and some not. Alternate arrangements were made for delivery, still no dice. Finally, it was offered that someone would come pick up the promised material in their station and they would not deliver. At the same time this was occurring, BREW leadership was informed that, per the renting rules, one of their undeveloped systems needed to be returned to XIX control. They were offered compensation for the system but declined to return it. BREW leadership was offered several opportunities to comply and were warned that failure to comply could have negative consequences, they responded with vague statements about how they just couldn't do it and justifications as to why the "deserved" to keep the system. These two situations combined indicated that BREW leadership was disinclined to follow directives and officers placed in charge of them in the structure of the coalition and the decision was made to remove them. Once the attack began, they quickly buckled and tried to transfer the system back to XIX but the situation was not a result of a system, it was a failure to comply with the rules they agreed to. At this point they were offered terms of surrender that would have assured that they could evacuate in safety from the region. Those terms were declined…….rudely I might add and hostilities resumed. And make no mistake, they didn't slip all their assets out of the region under the noses of their ejectors, their leadership said specifically, "it's a good thing we haven't moved all our stuff back in after we flipped".
If anyone wants to cast stones about bad personality traits like back-stabbing let's first address the comments in P-Z local by a BREW pilot about how they would have someone close to an opposing pilot have them reported to children and youth services as a danger to their children over the whole situation.
Some of the comments, refer to botters and RMT. I will admit that botters get into XWX but when I find them, I report them. Period. I don't like it and I would like to see it gone. If i ever got proof that someone was RMT'ing I would report just as quickly while doing everything in my power to make their "business" difficult. It's easy to point fingers at the Drone regions and accuse pilots of botting but over the years I have seen botters in every region, neither Drone space nor the Russian's have a corner on the market.
