It seems Red Arrow, emboldened (or disheartened – depending on which battles you look at) by the fighting in the east, decided to drop into one of ROL’s station systems, TSG-NO. The tide of the war in the south has been swinging back and forth for about a year now, and both sides seem to enjoy the fighting but also hope to finish the other side off. Red Arrow rallied their Abaddons on a titan near the border with ROL, with carriers as logistics. A-Team had not been fielding capitals in the south for some time now, so this force seemed to be solid. On command, the Red Arrow force bridged into TSG. They had roughly two fleets worth of ships (nearly 500 ships). They knew there was a good chance for a fight here, as A-Team had assembled a force of roughly the same size, and were waiting patiently in the system for them. The system quickly slowed down to a snail’s pace and local spiked. About 15-20 Red Arrow ships are killed right off the bat, as the fleet was still in the process of loading into the system. Then the Red Arrow FC began calling targets, and the fight was on!
A-Team had carrier support on the field, but Red Arrow’s carriers seemed to be holding their fleet together better. The Red Arrow FC switched primary to the A-Team carriers, in hopes of removing their logistics support from the field. He called primary on a Chimera and the Abaddons got to work. Reps were coming in to the Chimera, and its tank began jumping up and down as reps came in and alpha strikes shredded it down. The Abaddons are eventually able to break its tank, and the fight looked like it would a solid win for RA. Suddenly, more A-Team ships began coming onto the grid. Their super fleet. Red Arrow forces were not prepared to fight 17 titans and and 37 super carriers. What had appeared to be a battle in Red Arrow’s favor, quickly became a slaughter. The Red Arrow FC did not have a false sense of bravado, and called for the fleet to deagress and burn for the gate after only a short time. They waited out their timers, losing ships to the overwhelming firepower on the field at a rapid clip.
As soon as they were deagressed, they jumped the gate… and were confronted by bubbles. On the entry and exit gate. A-Team began following them in, so the Red Arrow FC had the fleet bounce safes to burn off their timers (some bubble killing was necessary to get the fleet off the entry gate without getting swarmed by the incoming A-Team ships. After the 15 minute timers ended, the Red Arrow FC called for the fleet to log off and wait until later to escape the region.
A well played trap on the part of A-Team. Good fight to all involved.
