Recently, there was some internal drama in Gentlemen’s Agreement. Past Tuesday the arguments spilled onto public forums (namely, the kug-who-must-not-be-named). The debate seems to have devolved to the level of “your mom” and “hax!” as arguments by that point. So, without further adieu, we will try to sum up this glorious drama bomb into an edible bite.
Blame Game
Basically it all start up with a discussion of fleet doctrines, “passive align” to be more specific. A passive align order was repeatedly issued by Paxton Industries FC Don llin in a fleet. Lake, former Majesta Empire Fc and a member of the GENTS leadership team, stepped in on comms and had the fleet actively align, eventually taking over as FC. Lake’s amendment of ongoing fleet tactics were not well received by The Ascendant [.UP.] CEO Marcus Ratz. Marcus created a lengthy forum post in the leadership channel about the benefits of “passive aligning” with a thinly veiled insinuation that Lake’s battle tactics were inferior to the FC he had corrected and a suggestion that he should have left the FC alone. Marcus apparently hit a nerve with Lake.
When asked by .UP. leadership what happened, Lake made light of the event, claiming everything had been worked out. It seems members of .UP. did not agree with Lake’s assessment. Daniel Essig went to the internal forums, bad mouthing Lake. Lake responded by banning him from the forums. Durp then took up the flag, suggesting that Lake acts the way he does because he lives in his parent’s basement. He was promptly banned as well. Lake demanded that Kesper do something, and Kesper contacted .UP. leadership, asking that Daniel be removed from the corp.
I don’t know if “escalation” is the right word to describe this..
Yuri followed this up with another forum post. A forum post that brought the wrath of the forum admin because he copypasted a post degrading Lake a reported 6000 times in the span of 10 minutes in various places on the forums. Lake reportedly booted the .UP. corp from the alliance shortly after this.

This is what some call “great television”
Daniel then took the debate to kugu with a rather lengthy rant, including copypastes of posts and chat logs. Marcus followed up by calling Lake a spoiled brat in a lengthy way, replete with chat logs. Suggestions that Lake must be confined to a wheelchair with sever disabilities being the only explanation for his behavior flowed on kugu by members of .UP. and former alliance members.
Lake showed up a few hours later and made a short post to the tune of “you know I don’t tolerate personal attacks against me, so you shouldn’t be surprised that I banned and kicked everyone.” Durp showed up on kugu shortly after Lake’s post. Durp seems to have maxxed training in smack talk and let loose multiple tirades, questioning everything from Lake’s social capabilities to his intelligence to his sexual orientation.
At this point, the people who had been involved went mostly silent, but the forum still hummed for another day with smack coming from various sources. Drama this hot and spicy probably continues even now, only not as much in the public eye.

Lake, former main FC of Majesta Empire pissed people off, they joined BDEAL & APOC.
Lake is the reason SMX left Gents and the reason I left too. I love Kesper so much but Lake is unbearable. He’s very serious about the game, to put it mildly.

Lake takes over a fleet Don Ilin is leading because of calls for the fleet to passive align.
Marcus took issue on the whole passive align correction:
Why is there all this hate against passive aligning? What’s wrong with having your fleet stay together, with everyone aligned to the warp out point, and near zero speed? Your fleet will stay together, and not get all strung out as it would with a full speed align. Your fleet will still enter warp faster than a fleet that is stationary, or has ships flying off in other directions, that would need to decelerate, and align before they could warp.
And yet, you are telling me that aligning to a point at full speed is ok, but having a fleet aligning to a point at only a couple of meters per second, is such a dangerous manoeuvre, that you will immediately get your fleet taken away from by Lake, as happened the other day.

The issue is not specifically about passive align. That was merely… “the trigger”.
My understanding is that the actual issues have been settled to the satisfaction of all parties involved.

Tradik is a bitter Australian who lacks basic social skills, while Lake backs him up because Tradik is the closest thing he has to a man friend seeing as he still lives with his dad.
Lake threw a fit

Dr Kang tried to figure out what happened.

mjollnir “I’m the sysadmin for the Gents webserver and just need to clear this one little point up. Yuri was banned by me before I even bothered reading what he posted. He was banned because he used a script to post in every thread on the forum and created about a dozen other ones. In the space of about 10 mins he made approx 6000 POST requests to the server. The POST requests he made during this time where at an order of magnitude more than normal traffic.
Because of this Yuri was banned and reported to his ISP for launch a denial of service attack.
People question why Lake seems to be running things even though Kesper is supposed to be the alliance leader. Questions about the location of Kesper’s spine follow.
Daniel takes the fight to kugu:
It was humorous to rip into lake in a public forum and it needed to be done.
Marcus called Lake a spoiled brat.
he’s (…) like a spoilt, only child, use to getting his own way or else he throws a temper tanti. He has openly said to his fellow alliance members that he enjoys being a cunt to everyone. He calls it his ‘social experiment’. And it seems, his social experiment, seeing how many people he can piss off, he is willing to continue to carry out, even to the detriment of his own alliance.

And while Lake loves to dish out shit, he sure can’t take it. He gets real butt hurt, as everyone can now see, the moment anyone says anything critical of him.

Lo’K suggests Kesper’s outrage about stuff being on kugu is hypocritical.
Regardless of context, this all feels vaguely familiar.
Helothane points out how fast the corp turnover is in the alliance.

For the time being, no other corps have left Gentlemen’s Agreement and the kugu drama seems to have subsided.
