The lines are still hot as Pandemic Legion just got a masive +200bil hit from the ever existing corp theft treat.

According to early reports, player “Saint Schala” from Sniggerdly [SNIGG] corporation of Pandemic Legion, cleaned up the house at Pandemic Legion defacto home system X-7OMU in Pure Blind, rumor is on the street that the disgruntled member has been specially bothered for the current campaign against the Northern Coalition, specially after being hired by IT, an alliance as we all know, doesn’t have the best past relationships with Pandemic Legion, the initial report was a bit exagerated:

21 thanatos
32 moros
13 nag
12 phoenix
36 revs
33 broads
25 devoter
13 onyx
13 phobos
51 basi
70 guardians
71 scimi
Several Heavy interdictors
and about 80Bil in isk.

Our estimate is a little bit more conservative, at least ship-wise:

2 thanatos
12 moros
3 nag
2 phoenix
16 revs
3 broads
5 devoter
3 onyx
3 phobos
21 basi
30 guardians
11 scimi
and an unespecified ammount of heavy interdictors
40-60 Bil in cash

We also were provided with the following screenshot which is already making rounds in the New Eden community:

Many Pandemic Legion members pride themselves in being able to pull scams and metagaming, i would ask… Karmic Hit or just an opportunistic theft?

**Update**

We contacted Flinx Evenstar of Pandemic Legion Leadership, he acknowledge part of the second version of the theft (our estimate), and we quote:

Heist was true but over exaggerated. That said, it was a fair bit of money that was stolen so we’ve had to make some cost savings. We’ve therefore had to kick xXAngelXx for inactivity to save on our pizza and chicken wings bill.

I’d estimate it was about 50-60bn that we lost

Also, we got intel about failed negotiations from Pandemic Legion and player “Saint Schala”, reportedly to “get their shit back”, at the time of this update, nothing has been returned.

That's not the point you twat. The point is, it was stolen from PL. But even if it was someone else it's still significant news. People have lost plenty of titans in eve too, yet everytime someone loses one, there's a news post about it. Why? Because it's significant.

Not like they don’t get more than that for 1 contract. Fail no news here.

Another case when corporations aren’t actively managing corp rights effectively. Hopefully for PL’s sake the large majority of ISK and REAL assets are in a holding corp.

As I said in the old comments system, karma can be a real bitch.

And could we be near the endgame for PL? They've backstabbed almost all their former allies with the recent "contracts" they've taken, and working for BOB/IT is probably unforgivable to many of the other entities with enough cash to hire them.

Add to this the fact that most of the big alliances have been producing supercarriers like mad in the last few months their ability to punch above their weight due to supercap superiority is pretty much gone.

Would even the RMT Russians hire PL at this point?

You pose a good question. My guess is yes, because mercs don't effectively have loyalty to anyone else but their employer (at least in theory anyway).

You are correct if they are thinking pragmatially.

However, when you factor in emotions, such as the feeling of betrayal of past allies, plus historic antagonism between some of them and some of the people PL has been working for, the leaders of those massive entities who have the cash to hire PL might decide to act emotionally instead of pragmatically.

Also, how many of the rank and file are going to put up with their alliance spending the ISK that they have paid in taxes hiring PL when they'd been face raped by PL the month/week, even day before? Look, PL is good, if I needed them and had the money I'd hire them myself. But what if doing so would lead to some of your leadership quitting, leaving, or, as we saw here, robbing you blind because they disagree, or your rank and file quitting?

Hiring PL could become politically impossible.

And, how many entities are there out there who could afford to hire them? There aren't many, and PL has already worked for or AGAINST all of them in the past 6 months. Being hired by IT is pretty much the endgame for them in terms of being highly paid mercs.

What seems to happen though in practice is that Mercenaries are 'captured' by the people who bring them repeat business.

If an alliance continues to hire/pay a mercenary concern, the mercenaries will become closer and closer to their routine employers. Also others will see start to see the mercenaries as 'allied' to the people who employ them the most often.

I agree. I can't possibly imagine who else could afford to hire PL so I'm sure those large contracts are far and few. While I've never been a member of a merc corp, I'm inclined to think they do many smaller contracts and have other non-alliance corps that help sustain them.

Emotions do in fact play a factor, but I think any reasonably intelligent player knows that you can't take it personally when a merc corp you hired 6 months ago has now been contracted to attack you.

This is BS. Someone upset over betraying past allies? I thought PL was a mercenary corp.
So you get back at a betrayal by yourself betraying? Yeah that makes sense. Self-righteousness is not far away from hypocrisy, the bane of my existence.

This corp theft wasn't planned or calculated. It was done out of emo rage and spite after Saint was trolled on the forums. It was not very well thought through and the amount taken was much less than indicated in this article. Which is kinda sad really. There was no “sucked in fellas, I am off to Goons with ur dreads” or even awoxing our super fleet to the NC (something that would be news worthy). It was all emo rage about someone insulting his epeen on the forums.

Saint is a bit sensitive and is not the first time he has emo rage quit PL. This time he got forum trolled by some new guy about his elite PvP status. Something along the lines of "Elite PvP to Saint is camping a station with a repping/sensor boosting carrier on the undock in low sec"; about the equivalent of "u mad bro".

Well he did get mad, the thread did not even make it to "Yep he real mad" before he snapped, spat out the dummy, took what he could from his corp (the troller is not even in his corp!) and made a post about leaving for good this time.

He even stole ISK from our orphans (waffles) which he did later give back.

I think Saint has some real life issues and should probably give Eve away if such a silly comment which is marginally insulting to ur epeen and sends u into a rage like this.

I do not know any corp in eve that can trust him if he cracks like this and takes what he can, in his own words, "to burn bridges". Burning bridges; objective achieve Saint, not just to PL but probably every corp in eve and lost some good friends as well no doubt.

Good for you guys really! With all this trash talk and this meta-gamin talk, it's all you deserve! Who cares if it was emo rage quit, the point is to see the real PL, members bashing members as they see fit on forum. It doesnt matter if u express this as being irrelevant, I do think this one of the many blows that are in reserve for you PL! Continue to promote this kind of attitude PL and this will continue to happend to you! /popcorn out watchin PL fail cascade like IT

The reality is that every corp/alliance has an individual or group of drama queens with emo issues.

Could you be more specific and provide an example of how PL "promotes this kind of attitude"?
