Someone needs to post the exact terms of the settlement for completeness.
So heres something to look at. Towards the end of the provi war, when CVA doesn’t take the surrender terms offered by -A-, everyone calls them stupid. Now, when Atlas takes the surrender terms offered by RA and friends, people are calling them cowards, traitors, and sell outs incapable of reforming after that. So, having seen it done both ways now, who played their situation better, CVA or Atlas?
I never liked that back stabbing chump Bobby, but in this I have to agree with him. This deal is retarded to the fullest extent. Kerdrak just replaced Bobby from the number 5 spot on my list of idiots in New Eden. Only thing lacking was Kerdrak promising Ruskies his house, wife, kids, car and bank account.

Lets look now at what the end game was.
ATLAS is still there – hasn't disbanded.
All the collateral paid has been returned to them.
So far ATLAS members have evacuated almost their entire assets from captured stations.
ATLAS have also saved 8 super capitals that were in build and would otherwise have died.
WN have taken Detorid and are moving in on OMIST but ATLAS have had time to get ready for them.
In my eyes someone at ATLAS played a very good end game and all the shizzle about the deal proved to be just that – shizzle.
No they haven't disbanded. They only lost 60% of their membership… so far. Yeah, fail.

The deal offered to CVA was actually a good deal, and they were stupid not to take it. It had comprimise on both sides.
The deal offered to Atlas was a horrible deal, and serves only one side, and it isn't Atlas.
So to your first post, why even ask the question, especially if you were there when the deal was offered? You should know better than anyone how good of a deal CVA was offered.
Further to my point, and to answer your question, they both fail.
One alliance, who were branded NAPpers for their NRDS policy, didn't take a NAP.
Another alliance, who were branded warriors for their pvp ability, did not do the noble warrior thing by fighting to the death, and instead surrendered, to what would appear to be a bad deal at the moment.
CVA thought they were better than they were.
Atlas seems to be giving up without much of a fight.
Complete roll reversals for both alliances. Out of character. Not even taking the smart options. Fail.
Bleh. There was SO many factors that went into the great failcascade of Atlas. One huge one obviously was Bobby, without him the rest of the leadership was completely apathic. Another one was the cascades of CoW and GC. Aswell as all emo with AAA.
I dare say INIT has our backs way more than AAA did during this invasion. AAA would show up WAY too late in most cases. And at some point in OMIST -A- stated they couldnt show up for axdx as they were out roaming.
Init did show up and -A- in their infinite wizdom decided to go engage the Init fleet heading to help us defend Axdx.

Don't get me wrong. I dont blame -A- for Atlas failcascade. I'm just saying things didnt really went our way, basicly everything that could go wrong leading up to the full scale invasion did so.
